movie makes me feel like i'm one of the tourists. interesting little stories. nice scenery. would watch this movie again.
we can all learn something from this movie.
fantastic journey of retirees!
was alright, kind of dissappointing.
loved the movie - very aspiring and sprinkled with comedy - must see!!
amazing to see such an array of "mature" talent in one movie!!!
very good!
i loved it. i was born in india and grew up in canada. it made me laugh and it made to cry and it i am grateful that our father brought us to canada. and i could understand the hindi bonus!! pls go see it so killing, no swearing... just a great movie about what really matters in life!!
i absolutely loved this film. a must see!
love the movie and the indian actor dev patel is very funny. i recommend this movie and could see it again.
went to see the movie and found the actor dev patel excellent. even if we did not know him, he was as great as the british actors. he made the flow of the movie great. go and see it.
wonderful and sensible
loved this!!!!
Excellent movie. Entertainment without foul language, bathroom humour, ridiculous action, or vampires. Superb cast of real actors.
my husband wasn't sure he'd like it but we bith loved it.
i loved everything about this film. the characters were beautifully written and masterfully portrayed. the many chaotically colourful scenes depicted life in india wonderfully. and the story was satisfying, without being cloyingly sweet.
great movie, great cast.
myself and my teenage kids all enjoyed this movie. it borders and touches on real life in some instances with a smattering of hollywood inputs to complete the humour cycle. really well done, with fantastic performances by all.
fun, light film with some excellent actors.
very enjoyable. very good cinematography. judy dench, maggie smith are excellent performers as well as the rest of this "mature" cast. worth the money.
i took my parent to see this movie; they had fun , it is clean comedy with a good story
the movie was a waste of my time and money. the story was dull and mind-numbing. it was hard to believe, that a group of fairly intelligent individuals (seniors) from uk, would buy a ticket to india to find out the advertisment was a scam. i couldn't find any wit or humor, therefore i didn't get value for my money and consider the movie another scam.
excellent! this movie both touches the heart and enlightens with comedy....with very british wit.
enjoyed it
maggie smith is superb. lots of laughs but i think this movie is best enjoyed by seniors.
amazing journey of old age.
if this is what it's like to get old, bring it on! the cast of flighty seniors are having a bang up good time with each finding enlightenment once they experience their new digs in india. how can you not love bill nighy who morphs from a spineless "nice" guy to an adventurous explorer, never losing his sense of humor? i love the juxstapositioning of serious and humorous life experiences. it's upbeat and overall the best film i've seen for years.
a few laughs but generally slow and methodical. the older generation may relate to the movie but would hardly be excited by it.
oh best movie i have seen in a long long time and i saw the avengers too. if you're a boomer it will make you lol and cry too...very life affirming and deep and light hearted at the same time..a must see ..i'd see it again
this was one of the best feel good movies i've seen in a long time. it hits every aspect of life including aging, depression, loneliness, financial ruin, meeting new people in a totally foreign area even being gay people....go see it!
this great movie shows how even the life experienced can contribute to the young ones, and show the way.
this is real , and to the point. it has all the humore of growing old. i loved it!
loved this wonderful, brilliant film that proves you don't need over the top action, nudity and hot 20 year olds. what you really need is a great cast, great characters, wonderful story and an amazing location.
wonderful, enjoyable. nice to see a movie without blood shed, swearing and overall rudeness. totally loved the movie, scenery, actors and thems.
enjoyable movie, a little slow at parts, but still enjoyable
a pleasure to experience. great actors, good storyline, exotic location... humor and human emotions. all the right stuff equals a truly satisfying evening out.
pretty good
great movie!
smart and funny
one of the best movies i have seen this year. don't let the cast fool you. it is not only for seniors!
an aging british equivalent of the brat pack relocate to india to make their retirements affordable. they wind up in a dilapidated old hotel and magic happens (or not). smart, detailed film with a gentle sense of humour and unexpected wisdom.
gem of a movie! movies have become nothing more than special effects and blank words. but, then there comes a 'gem of a movies,' the likes of 'the best exotic marigold hotel!' perfect acting, timing and everything a movie should be. it made us laugh, cry and cheer for all the characters and their individual story. life and money are a precious commodity to waste on entertainment, unless it gives one satisfaction. this movie and actors, accomplished this, and we just want to thank them!
fabulous movie - warm and realistic
amazing journey of retirees!
as always its a pleasure to watch dame judi dench, dame maggie smith and the lovely bill nighy. incredible chemistry and timing, they make it look so easy. india is a character in itself with its own complex layers, but it never overshadows the cast, the quick witted script or the fine performances.
refreshing cast! beautiful and meaningful story!
this movie will appeal to the zoomer / boomer generation. i has great performances by the ensemble cast. it also has enough heart to appeal to the early twenty crowd. not for the emotionally unprepared
great movie, most unexpected surprise events. loved it!!1
finally a movie worth watching believable characters and plot no gratuitious violence colorful setting and great acting. well done.
thoroughly enjoyable - poignant at times, but funny too.
