Being the only theater in town is the only thing keeping them open.

April 16, 2016

The seats are worn and uncomfortable, the concession is an over priced joke. The building is old and it is showing it's age, it need a huge update.

Fantastic if you're a 14 year old boy

February 28, 2019

I wouldn't mind the decrepitude if the movie selections could sometimes cater to the above 14 crowd. And I don't mean parental guidance. I mean movies for people who appreciate intelligence, wit, great acting, good stories. The incessant focus on action/thriller/animation films is monotonous and stupefying.

Would be nice to have more 2D movies and a better selection of shows.

November 21, 2015

You know we love going to the movies, would certainly do it at least once a week if there was a better show selection. I mean really, find someone else to select them. Most people have eye issues these days, including children. 3D shows are no good for 56.8% of us, according to stats Canada. I know they are terrible for me an my family.

Needs reno good staff and cleanliness!

April 30, 2022

The seats are old and ratty. Floors sticky and not very clean for a theatre. Much needed revamp. Properly trained staff would be a nice bonus. Waay overpriced for the conditions of the theatre! Concession is ridiculous. The staff told me they even sneak in snacks because of the prices. Surprised they are even open.

Dirtiest Theatre I've Ever Been In

January 10, 2016

We've been in theatres all various towns in B.C., both large and small. Very disappointed in this one considering the size of Prince George. Not maintained or updated by management or owners at all. It's certainly not the fault of the young people who work there. The floors and seats were disgusting, the food was overpriced and the bathrooms needed to be redone....so dingy. One of our favorites is the theatre in Vanderhoof. Family owned vintage theatre, super friendly, comfy seats and very clean. Oh and the sound is great. Try this one out.

Odeon Cineplex should get out of the theatre business

April 25, 2019

Sound level: Typical for a theatre. Loud. Sound system is a dinosaur. They are probably running less channels than some people do at home. No ATMOS or DTS-X. Picture quality: Mediocre. I'm pretty sure they turn down the light output for their 3D showings in some vain attempt to save the bulb. 3D is generally dark to begin with but their presentation borders on murky. 2D is slightly better but not by much. Seats: Worn out garbage. The seats have not been updated since the place opened. Theatre design: Trash. The person who invented the sloped floor theatre design should have had their head examined. It is the worst design for theatres ever. Even the floor riser design of the theatres in 1960s and 70s PG was better than the garbage design used at the Famous Players 6. Cleanliness: Adequate: however, what else can be expected when the staff responsible for cleaning is paid minimum wage. Food: Typical theatre fare. Overpriced and mediocre. Not worth waiting in a line up for. Ticket stands: Okay when they are working. However, many of them are broken down which matches the quality of Odeon Cineplex's busted management. Conclusion: Odeon Cineplex should get out of the theatre business. They have no interest in running a quality theatre chain. The theatre in PG should be torn down and replaced or a competitor should enter the market and put Odeon Cineplex out of its misery.

Renovations Long Overdue

October 18, 2016

I am shocked of how run down and smelly the movie theatre is here in Prince George. We are a large enough city to warrant an upgrade to the style of theatre. During the summer, I sat through 2 movies with the smell of vomit in the theatre and I am hesitant to sit in a seat because of how dirty and run down they are. Renovations or an upgrade is long overdue for this theatre...hopefully it will happen sooner than later!
