Searching bags? What is going on here?

September 26, 2017

Firstly, knowing this, I will never come here again. What a joke! Secondly, just because you won't let people bring outside food does not mean that they're just going to cave in and buy concession food. People have ZERO obligation to purchase anything aside from their movie ticket. Sorry to say but this is invasive and people clearly don't like this ridiculous practise.

They will Search your bags for food and drinks !

August 03, 2018

Imagine Cinemas Market Square is the theater that have no problem treating customers like criminals by searching their bags for food and drinks! The Security Guard is looking at you, looking you over. He is making a value judgement about you based on who you are, your gender, ethnicity, the way you dress, and your actions. If he or she has any biases about certain groups, then that group automatically triggers the use of search and seizure, not because it is objective, but because in fact, the guard doesn't like certain people, in addition to using the color of authority via his employer - to stop "You" and search your bag while others he likes "better than people like you," walk right past him/her. Question: How does that make you feel? The consumer has all the power in the world. If consumers can put a national retail chain out of business, then they can get stupid policies changed. It is time to vote with the wallet and not patronize businesses that don't treat you like a human.
