good baseball movie
this movie has a weak story line. i did not like clint eastwood in this role.
good story telling
not bad, but adams wasn't great. entertaining, though.
not all clint, thankfully.
clint eastwood seems miscast in this movie and the first half of the movie is just terrible.
very touching movie. well acted.
great performances by all actors and strong script. certainly above average entertainment.
sweet movie. i like clint eastwood and baseball, and i have to say this was probably clint's finest performance.
heartwarming
endearing movie, neat baseball facts, strong acting.
entertaining picture, good acting, strong story, good baseball scenes.
clint eastwood gets better with age. a heart warming story of a disfunctional father and daughter, set against a backdrop of green turf, red shale and cold beer, growing together as they overcome their past.
great father/daughter movie. acting was excellent.
enjoyed it very much. thank you very much.
i wasn't sure about this when i first heard about it, but was excited to win passes to see it. i'm a huge justin timberlake fan, so that was enough for me. was interesting seeing matthew lillard not in a comedy but i think he pulled it off, and it was awesome to see john goodman in something again! i found the movie engaging, interesting, and i quite enjoyed it. i give it 4 out of 5!!
father daughter relationship was engaging. eastwood and adams were excellent in their roles.
i watched this movie with my father and it was great. we both loved it. i was surprised how great an actor clint eastwood still is.
very entertaining!
an enjoyable movie with a good story line. clint eastwood should stick to directing, instead of being himself rather than attempting to play the role.
clint eastwood still has it!
it wasn't the best movie, but justin timberlake was great eye candy!
so many great clint eastwood movies. my first and favourite was play misty for me, followed by bridges of madison county. trouble with the curve, made me sad, and think of my dad, who passed away June 22, 2012. a must-watch father/daughter relationship.
i loved the frequent banter between gus and mickey. a really enjoyable movie.
this movie is kinda of anti-moneyball movie. pretty much the same movie but kinda against computers and the actions that oakland had to do to win games. still not a bad movie and the acting was still good but i perfer moneyball!!
i liked this movie. thought the ending was predictable but all the charectors were cute and a good distraction.
the story was okay but i did enjoy the movie. wish justin timberlake would have sung a song. the ending was wishy washy.
if you like baseball then you will like this movie. otherwise you may want to wait until it comes on tv to watch.
i felt it was a pretty good heart warming movie, but did find some things to be a little too predictable. i will recommend it to certain friends that enjoy this genre of movie.
great acting by clint eastwood as a grumpy aging scout is highly entertaining, timberlake is charming and funny as you can expect from all his other romcoms. but all the plot line, every cheesy moments between characters are a cliches. but for the pure entertainment, a-ok.
simply put, it is a movie worth watching. a movie is meant to entertain and this one did exactly that. the story line was exciting, and there was never a "boring" moment that many dramas seem to have. i highly recommend it, especially if its clint eastwood's last movie (according to clint).
believable characters and story. clint eastwood proves he still "has it". definitely in the top range of "sports movies". not too technical on the game, so anyone who didn't know baseball very well can still enjoy it.
great heartwarming movie. clint eastwood plays his character so well, similar to gran torino. eastwood and adams are a great father and daughter pair.
clint eastwoods performance was both touching and humerous.
trouble with the curve was an absolute delight, the cast was pitched perfect. clint eastwood is funny as the grumpy father with a disfunctional relationship with his daughter. the plot is consistent but the screenplay lacks of length. justin timberlake's character was futile and useless in some way. overall the film belongs to the witty amy adams and clint eastwood. it's a great watch!
amy adams is a great actress. i love her movies.
manichean characters, the storyline is a bit predictable. still, a nice movie and an honest performance by clint eastwood and amy adams.
was definitely a good movie, though not clint's best. it's hard to dissociate clint from the iconic characters he's played in the past. don't get me wrong, he is still a hard-nosed, gruff, guttural man who you clearly wouldn't want to cross on a bad day. he just seemed muted...like watching him as walt kowalski if he had started getting softer, not harder, as the years passed by. movie had a solid pace, with a few bumps along the way. the first-time director made a few rookie mistakes in the area of common film tripes and cliches, but it was lifted by a solid cast, with good performances all around. definitely a decent movie worth checking out.
i really enjoyed the on-screen chemistry of the cast and the strong female character. even the most dramatic scenes did not feel forced, contrived or over-acted. it was light-hearted when it needed to be, sentimental when it needef to be and serious when it needed to be. this really helped keep the storyline moving forward.
this movie was touching and humerous. you don't have to be a sports fan to appreciate how the love of the game in this movie translates to a greater love of family and self. great film!!
this movie portrayed the decisions that people make based on assumptions and how everything can go wrong for them because of it. it was emotion packed, had humour and wit thrown in and was a totally enjoyable. i recommend this movie.
predictable storyline but good acting...
justin timberlake, amy adams, and clint eastwood worked great together to make this movie heartfelt and enjoyable.
i thought that it was an amazing movie. i really liked the story. i thought the cast was perfect for each of their roles. it is a movie i would go with my boyfriend to see because it has a male aspect to it with the baseball side along with a hint of romance for the girls.
trouble with the curve was a dramatic, yet comical, film. clint eastwood played a father in the movie - one of which most viewers will probably recognize in their own lives - stubborn, insistant, and persistant. justin timberlake, while typically underestimated, provided comic relief in dramatic moments while amy adams played a character whose soul was hurting. this movie was fantastic and i would recommend it in a heatbeat to everyone. absolutely fantastic!
quite enjoyed it. it is the typical clint eastwood movie. thumbs up!
great couples movie, there's the budding romance for the ladies and of course the baseball aspect for the guys. there was a lot of personal relationships going on in this movie but they all fit quite well. one downside for me was, i wasn't sure if justin's character was fired or not.
excellent movie . enjoyable . will recommend to my family and friends.just love and admire clint eastwood!
this movie was a good one.
this was a very realistic movie and very heart warming, of interest to baseball fans like myself and to anyone who wants a "feel good" movie. clint eastwood showed he still has what it takes to keep an audience interested for the length of the movie.
