Atticus Freeman (Jonathan Majors) says that his father wrote him and said that he has a secret legacy, a birthright that has been kept from them in Lovecraft Country. His Uncle George (Courtney B. Vance) tells him the place is not real. Atticus goes to the town and discovers they don't like outsiders. There are stories of travelers being attacked in the woods. Everything is not as it seems and they have to ask the question, "What is reality?" as something supernatural lurks nearby.
