Trouble with the Curve Movie Synopsis

Gus Lobel (Clint Eastwood) has made a name for himself as one of the greatest baseball scouts of the past decade—he can even tell a pitch just by the crack of the bat. But as his age starts to catch up with him, he realizes he could be coming up to the final innings of his career.

The front office of the Atlanta Braves begins questioning his judgement. With a hot new batter up for grabs, Lobel turns to the one person who might be able to help, his daughter Mickey (Amy Adams), an associate at a high-powered Atlanta law firm. The only problem is the two have never been close and Mickey blames baseball for her father not being there as much as he should have when her mother died.

Nonetheless, Mickey puts her career on the line and joins her father on his latest scouting trip to North Carolina. In spending more time together than they have in years, they each make startling discoveries about their past and present, discoveries that could change both of their futures forever.

  Was okay...

Lame and very predictible story line. Not one of Clint's best. Acting not up to scratch

Solid performances from the cast, and an intriguing contrast to Moneyball. Whereas in Moneyball, baseball was viewed through a statistical lens to give the underdogs a chance, in this movie the romantic view of the game, valuing tradition and experience is presented, Who wins?
