Hollywood-stuntman-turned director, David R. Ellis, was found in his hotel bathroom in Johannesburg. He was only 60 years old. A cause of death has not yet been determined. Ellis was in South Africa filming his latest project, the remake of the 1998 Japanese anime movie Kite, which would have starred Samuel L. Jackson, whom he directed in Snakes on a Plane. Jackson took to Twitter after hearing about his friend's death, writing, "So sad to hear of David R Ellis passing! So talented, so kind, such a Good Friend. He'll be missed. Gone too soon!" Ellis was last seen alive on Saturday night and his body was discovered by a hotel manager over the weekend. Ellis will be remembered through his many directorial projects, most notably his 2003 release, Final Destination 2, a favorite of fans of the movie series. Ellis also directed the final installment in the franchise, The Final Destination (2009), Cellular (2004) and Shark Night (2011). ~Brittnee Fleming

Strange stuff. I hope this isn't a similar story to the way David Carradine died.
