Shailene Woodley, 21, will donate all the hair she cuts off for the film adaptation of John Green's The Fault in Our Stars to Children with Hair Loss, an organization that gives free wigs to children with medical issues. The news about Shailene's charitable donation was shared by Green on his official Tumblr page. "When Shailene told me about this, I immediately thought there might be people in nerdfighteria who want to join her," wrote Green, referencing his "Nerdfighters" fanbase. "So if you have eight or more inches of spare hair, consider donating it to Children with Hair Loss," he said. "And if you do, let me know via the tags hairforhazel or itgrowsback, so I can put together some pictures/reblog your beautiful faces." Green assured that this decision is entirely Shailene's idea and said the studio may be unaware of it. The Fault in Our Stars follows Hazel and Augustus, two cancer-stricken teenagers - played by Shailene and her Divergent co-star Ansel Elgort - who fall in love after meeting at a support group. Filming is set to begin August 26 in Pittsburgh. ~Alfonso Espina

That's incredible, more people should do that! I would, but my hair gets to a certain length and then stops growing, so I can never get it long enough.

I didn't even know that was biologically possible Janet! I always thought women with short hair just liked to keep it cut that way
