Although Heath Ledger died of an accidental overdose away five years ago, Michelle Williams wants their daughter, Matilda, seven, to remember her father and has tried to make sure the youngster sees a great deal of the Ledger family. A source told
Us Weekly: "Michelle has made it a priority to keep Heath's memory alive. She understands the importance of Matilda having a connection with his family."
The
Dark Knight actor's parents, Sally and Kim, have recently spoken out about their granddaughter and said she bears a strong resemblance to her late father.
His mother Sally Ledger told Australia's
New Idea magazine: "Matilda is indeed very much like her dad -- she has long limbs and similar
features. However, she also possesses the beauty of her mamma - lucky girl."
Matilda's grandfather Kim added: "Matilda has the same walk as Heath and is such a respectful little kid - she calls us 'Papa' and 'Grandma Sal'."
