Date of Birth: March 10, 1992
As the younger sister of Oscar-nominated child star Haley Joel Osment, Los Angeles native Emily Osment began following in her brother's footsteps at an early age. After her first job at age five in a FTD florist commercial, she made her film debut at six in the indie film The Secret Life of Girls, while on TV she played Cassie, the daughter of Glenn Close and Christopher Walken in the Hallmark telefilm Sarah, Plain and Tall: Winter's End. She received her first Young Artist Award nomination for "Best Performance in a TV Movie or Pilot - Young Actress Age Ten or Under" for her work in the movie. She made her major motion picture debut as Gerti Giggles in Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams (2002), and reprised her role in Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over (2003).
Osment has been quoted as saying, "I don't get embarrassed easily, and I do silly things all the time!" This came in handy when she landed the role of Lilly Truscott on the hit Disney Channel series Hannah Montana, because she and Miley Cyrus, who plays Hannah, constantly find themselves doing silly, embarrassing things in every episode. Her co-starring status on the show rose her to teen star fame and during hiatus from the show in 2008, she not only reprised her role as Lilly in Hannah Montana: The Movie (2009), but found time to star in the Disney Channel TV movie Dadnapped (2009), alongside Hannah Montana co-star Jason Earles.
Osment, who has also appeared in guest roles in TV shows such as Friends, 3rd Rock from the Sun and Touched by an Angel, received another Young Artist Award nomination for her work in the video/DVD production The Haunting Hour: Don't Think About It (2007).
In her spare time, Emily enjoys surfing, soccer and plays guitar and piano.
