J.B. Rogers Biography

JAMES B. ROGERS

Born and raised in Indianapolis, Rogers attended Emory University in Atlanta. He then moved to Los Angeles to find work in the film industry and was accepted at various studios as an assistant director for numerous films for the next ten years.

Some of his credits as assistant director include Sorority House Massacre II (which he also wrote), 3 Ninjas, The Puppet Masters, Dumb & Dumber, There's Something About Mary, American Pie and Me, Myself and Irene (the latter three he also co-produced).

By the year 2000, Rogers felt he was ready to take on his own project and filmed the romantic comedies Say It Isn't So (2001) and American Pie II back-to-back.

For television, Rogers helmed Comedy Central's Knee High P.I., which follows a dwarf detective who solves crimes with a take-no-prisoners attitude on the criminals—and the ladies. Rogers' other television credits include The Sketch Artist, Midnight Runaround and A Stranger in Town.

His most recent television directorial effort was See Arnold Run, an A&E bio-pic based on the life and times.

He re-teamed with Warren Zide, the producer on the American Pie franchise for his latest, Pool Boy (2009).
