PETE TRAVIS
Irish director
Pete Travis won a BAFTA award for his work in television before moving on to feature films. He has directed episodes of
Cold Feet (1999) and the TV series
Other Peoples Children (2000), as well as
The Jury (2002) miniseries and the TV movie Henry VIII (2003).
His first film,
Omagh (2004), tells the story of a 1998 car bombing by the IRA that killed 29 people in North Ireland. It went on to win the Discovery Award at the Toronto International Film Festival, Best Feature at the Victoria Independent Film & Video Festival and a BAFTA TV Award for Best Single Drama.
His first major motion picture is
Vantage Point (2008), starring
Dennis Quaid and
Matthew Fox. The movie follows two Secret Service agents who are assigned to protect the President of the United States.
