Synopsis

Frances (Chloë Grace Moretz), a sweet, naïve young woman trying to make it on her own in New York City, doesn’t think twice about returning the handbag she finds on the subway to its rightful owner. That owner is Greta (Isabelle Huppert), an eccentric French piano teacher with a love for classical music and an aching loneliness.

Having recently lost her mother, Frances quickly grows closer to widowed Greta. The two become fast friends — but Greta’s maternal charms begin to dissolve and grow increasingly disturbing as Frances discovers that nothing in Greta’s life is what it seems.

  • 1 star "Bad, not interesting at all."
  • 1 star "I was excited to see it. I made it through a full hour but 30 of those minutes I was wondering just how to get out of the theatre without too much disturbance :( as I had sat in the middle and had to crawl over people to get out. Finally...be mean to a dog and I've had enough. "Excuse me; sorry, excuse me" I'm outta here."
  • 3 stars "I have seen better "thriller" movies but this wasn't bad. Certainly better than what some reviewers suggest."
