Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb in a coma

Robin Gibb, one of the two remaining brothers from the iconic disco group the Bee Gees, is in a coma after contracting pneumonia, according to a statement posted on his website. “Sadly the reports are true that Robin has contracted pneumonia and is in a coma. We are all hoping and praying that he will pull through.” Although details on his current condition are scarce, sources have told a UK newspaper that the singer is very ill and has his family keeping vigil by his bedside in a London hospital. In 2010, Gibb underwent surgery to correct a bowel condition and doctors discovered a tumor, which ultimately led to the diagnosis of cancer of the colon and liver. Although he was reportedly in remission and on the road to recovery, he unfortunately had to undergo another emergency surgery last month to remove a blood clot from the earlier bowel issues. His current condition is said to be fairly critical, however, his rep is not making any comments.
