Bill Cosby faces new sexual assault allegations

Bill-Cosby-creditA new accuser has come forward in the growing sexual assault controversy surrounding comedian Bill Cosby. Joan Tarshis published an essay on Hollywood Elsewhere, describing how the actor raped her twice in the fall of 1969, when she was 19 years old. The essay goes into detail about how the comedian gave her several drinks before undressing her on his couch. When she tried to get out of it, by lying that she had a sexually transmitted infection, he allegedly found other ways to assault her. “I was sickened by what was happening to me and shocked that this man I had idolized was now raping me,” she wrote. “Of course I told no one.” She detailed another encounter soon after, when Cosby drugged her and took her back to his room, where she woke up naked in his bed.

The public first heard of sexual assault allegations against the 77-year-old comedian back in 2006, when he settled a civil suit with a woman who claimed to have 13 other victims who were willing to come forward. Barbara Bowman, one of the victims, wrote an op-ed in the Washington Times on Nov. 13, where she alleged that Cosby drugged and raped her in the 1980s.

Cosby’s attorney, John P. Schmitt, published a statement on the comedian’s website on Sunday, dismissing the allegations. “Over the last several weeks, decade-old, discredited allegations against Mr. Cosby have resurfaced. The fact that they are being repeated does not make them true,” the statement reads. “Mr. Cosby does not intend to dignify these allegations with any comment.” ~Kelly Townsend

Although I believe a thorough police investigation needs to take place, there is a lot of consistency in the women who have come forward. This doesn’t sound good for Mr. Cosby. I believe he needs to address the allegations.

The lurid details of Bill Cosby’s sexual events are published for all to see. A lot of sexual assaults occur and no one hears about it. Bill Cosby’s reputation is ruined. It is part of being successful and rich.

There’s nothing unusual about this other than the fact he got caught,

this is Hollywood, young women and men go through the rape wringer in this city
every day just to try and get on the screen,

I’m surprised this hasn’t encouraged more victims to come forward and shame
a Lot more celebs with the truth of things, but of course money does stop people
from talking here…..they all deserve each other 🙂
