Britney Spears’ comeback marred by fast food

By Alexandra Heilbron on January 1, 2009 | 38 Comments

Britney SpearsPart of Britney Spears’ monumental ‘comeback’ includes maintaining a healthy lifestyle, but the ‘Womanizer’ singer is said to be gorging on junk food and refusing to stick to the 1,200 calories-a-day diet imposed by her managers. “Britney’s been eating burgers and chips for lunch in complete defiance of the strict eating plan worked out for her. It’s as if she’s trying to defy her father and bosses, and break out of the controlled environment,” a friend close to the pop star told Britain’s Daily Star. Spears has lost 28 lbs since beginning the new diet and exercise regime, however, she recently revealed the strict conditions of her new lifestyle make her feel trapped: “Even when you go to jail, there is always the time you know you are going to get out, you know? But in this situation, it’s never ending.” Can’t we just let the girl have McDonalds?

Give her a break ! Nobody cares if you or I slums it out to Micky D’s once in awhile — so what if her management wants her to maintain a certain look ! — I know how good it feels to get outside a strict regime once in a while — it’s good for the soul !

  2. Nancy • January 1, 2009 @ 3:26 PM

Indeed it is!! And as long as she keeps dancing and excercising, there shouldn’t be a problem with caloric intake.

  3. Jason • January 1, 2009 @ 7:24 PM

What? Both your comments are ridiculous.

Eating for comfort is self-destructive, period. You don’t enable a person to get fat, you encourage a person to get their life together.

  4. sheila • January 1, 2009 @ 8:29 PM

yes jason and it is good for those of us who have weight fluctuations to also have a treat once in awhile…even weekly…

  5. Nancy • January 1, 2009 @ 9:11 PM

I’m not enabling her or anyone else to get fat, Jason. What I’m saying is that if Britney or anyone else wants to eat McD’s, chocolate, fried chicken, or whatever once in a while, they can…it IS ok, and as long as they get plenty of exercise it won’t even be noticeable on the hips! How would you like to have everything in your life dictated to you, even what you eat, by someone else…someone who only wants to use you as a cash cow? When you want to go for ice cream do you go? Now, it’s the “gorging” part that I don’t agree with. McD’s for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks is not good but, it’s her life and if she wants to eat all that and then work out for 4 hours a day with a personal trainer and burn it all off, that’s her choice.

  6. tributegirl • January 3, 2009 @ 10:02 PM

She has so many people wanting to control her life, I think that’s what caused her to spiral out of control last year. And I think that’s why she’s doing this now, it’s an act of defiance probably, or maybe she just feels like a burger now and then, who knows?

  7. Jo-Anne. • January 4, 2009 @ 3:55 PM

Jason, I get what you are saying. Emotional eating, or out of control eating, particularly poor choice foods (let’s face it how often do we hear of broccoli binge??) can be very destructive. A “treat” I agree can be a good thing, for sure, but it doesn’t have to always be crap food.

Even very thin people who eat a crap diet are high risk for a lot of health issues. Regardless of working it off, it’s what you put into your body on a regular basis that’s crucial for good health.

Britney has looked good lately, seems to be making a healthy comeback, physically and emotionally, hope she can continue…

  8. tributegirl • January 4, 2009 @ 5:17 PM

True, but maybe she’s just tired and frustrated. Try putting yourself in her shoes.

  9. Jo-Anne. • January 4, 2009 @ 5:32 PM

okay, I will…after I finish reading all your millions of comments addressed to me ha ha ha predictible thanks

  10. Nancy • January 4, 2009 @ 6:16 PM

Don’t flatter yourself, Jo! Really, you’re not all that…sorry (NOT!) to burst your bubble. hahaha

  11. tributegirl • January 4, 2009 @ 8:27 PM

All my millions of comments addressed to you? What a megalomaniac!!! I wasn’t talking to you, you fool! I was talking to everyone on here!

  12. aprilshowers • January 6, 2009 @ 2:09 AM

I’ve been reading these comments for the past few days and they are all from the same people and the majority of them are people arguing amongst themselves, is this really what this is for, or is it for everyone to comment on what they think (as everyone is allowed to have their own opinions despite what others think, remember, FREEDOM OF SPEECH/ and like my mother used to say, “If you can’t say anything nice about someone, don’t say anythng at all” so why can’t everyone just stick to the subject, voice their opinion and everyone WILL get along as that way, no one will make it personal!! Don’t you think that’s a better idea? I do and I think most of you will agree (especially the ones that are getting lambasted for their own opinions that others might not approve of.)

  13. Nancy • January 6, 2009 @ 9:17 AM

aprilshowers: You are preaching to the choir! It doesn’t matter who sticks to the subject and only gives their opinion, there is always someone who disagrees with that opinion and voices it in a very disrespectful way. The comments on here are mostly from the same people because we come to this site regularly but this is the first time I have ever saw a comment from ‘aprilshowers’, and that comment didn’t even include your opinion on the topic…

  14. tributegirl • January 7, 2009 @ 9:54 AM

That’s right, there is at least one who has to comment negatively to pretty much every comment the rest of us regulars make, then an argument ensues. But I guess that’s her right to FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
So then, aprilshowers, what is your opinion on the article? Or are you just going to comment on other people’s comments?

  15. Jo-Anne. • January 7, 2009 @ 10:58 AM

for once I agree with you t.g., yes Nancy does tend to push those negative comments

  16. Nancy • January 7, 2009 @ 4:30 PM

Proven time and time again….sh!t diturber!! So here we are…AGAIN!! I haven’t even been on here since last night and there the b!tch is throwing my name around again! Then has the GALL to blame me. What a joke!

  17. Jo-Anne. • January 7, 2009 @ 4:36 PM

wow chill pill joke relax chill pill
    yeah, what a joke
I am surprised at you Nancy, that was so obvious…..

hmm, now let me see, who was that who commented most recently about no need to call names….hmmmm…..hmmmm…N-?-?-?-Y….how fast the tides turn

  18. Nancy • January 7, 2009 @ 5:08 PM

Hey, what goes around comes around! So take your own damn “chill pill” and relax. You really should just stay on topic. As for “the tides turning”…I’ve called you a b!tch ever since you started your instigating BS on this site, and you know it!

  19. Jo-Anne. • January 7, 2009 @ 5:36 PM

Me?? I am totally relaxed, thanks for caring

  20. tributegirl • January 7, 2009 @ 7:12 PM

Yup, looks like you’re relaxed, your meds must have kicked in.

  21. Jo-Anne. • January 7, 2009 @ 10:37 PM

always reassuring, t.g., reading your repeated poor taste jokes re meds, considering your stated medical “profession” employ

  22. Nancy • January 8, 2009 @ 10:08 AM

Yeah, and your ‘supposed’ association with the police….telling people to, how did you say that, “take a chill pill”!!!

  23. Jo-Anne. • January 8, 2009 @ 11:12 AM

“to calm down, relax” – take a chill pill.
    yes, you should.

explain to me how you connect that to the police?

  24. Nancy • January 8, 2009 @ 11:43 AM

Do I have to explain everything to you like a small child? The police (and those who say they “work with them”) ‘SHOULD’ be against drug (and alcohol) abuse, not tell everyone who doesn’t laugh at their childish jokes to “take a chill pill”…referring to putting a relaxing medication (or drug) into their bodies!

  25. Jo-Anne. • January 8, 2009 @ 2:57 PM

actually, it’s slang for relax, calm down, no drugs required – that’s just your incorrect twist on it.

should people have need for “relaxing” prescribed medication, I find that perfectly acceptable and wouldn’t see a need to poke fun at that.

Your obvious obsessive fixation with my employment with the police is what – jealousy? I note how you choose to hide your employment (if indeed any) yet find continuous enjoyment in ridiculing my line of work. Says it all.

  26. Nancy • January 8, 2009 @ 5:30 PM

Uh, I said “drug (and alcohol) ABUSE”…I did not say anything about ‘prescribed’ medication.

“no drugs required”….think about it there, wise one…”take a chill pill”…that means, take a pill to relax yourself/chill out!! Now, jealous?????? What a joke you are! Just because I don’t go around bragging about my profession doesn’t mean that I don’t take pride in what I do and it would NEVER mean that I am in any way, shape or form ‘jealous’ of you or any member of the law!! LMAO!

  27. aprilshowers • January 25, 2009 @ 4:26 AM

I cannot believe you guys, i.e. Nancy!! Here you are telling me that I should give an opinion as that’s what this is for, yet all you are doing is lambasting Joanne for hers!! Sure sounds like you are jealous of her!! I’m proud of her if she’s working for law enforcement as they put their lives on the line for us everyday, which is probably more than you do!! And I can’t believe you have never heard of the expression “chill pill”, but maybe you’re just an 18 year old and that’s why you haven’t heard of it!!

As for tribute girl, you say I haven’t written an opinion, well at least I’m not slamming on Joanne and siding with Nancy, so why don’t the 2 of you just stick to the subject and stop acting like spoiled brats!!

Perhaps the reason you’ve never seen aprilshowers before, was because I went under another name and switched it, just to see how you would react to a newcomer and I sure found out didn’t I?

  28. Jo-Anne • January 25, 2009 @ 5:46 PM

just came upon this, and boy am I glad someone else gets what’s really happening on here.

You are so right, and if you even check current storylines, you will see yet again, how many times these two try to stir it up on everything I post, even days after my posts…

I have been tempted, I admit, to answer back on a couple of extremely false things they are posting about me, but they are so not worth it.

Thank you for your comments, much appreciated.

  29. Jo-Anne • January 25, 2009 @ 5:49 PM

sorry, forgot to add and thank you for the compliment with my work, I am not an officer but I am very proud of working within the police organization. The cheap shots taken at them by these two are so reflective of their state of mind.

  30. Nancy • January 26, 2009 @ 10:57 AM

First of all, Jo-Anne: I’ve told you before to stop trying to act innocent in all of this. You say, “and if you just check current storylines, you will see yet again, how many times these two try to stir it up on everything I post, even days after my posts…” I swear that you are SENILE! Check out for instance, the jab at mandee (sorry again mandee but I guess I need to prove my point to the children once again!) on the January ‘John Travolta Blackmailed’ article…Jo’s been on mandees case for awhile now about not (in Jo’s opinion) ‘striving to be the best she can be’. But, that is just one example…she says things in her posts which refer to us but without using our names. As for you ‘APRILSHOWERS’…DUH! Yes, I have heard the expression ‘chill pill’ and no, I’m definately NOT jealous of Jo-Anne and really, could care less what you or anyone else thinks of me, Tributegirl, Jo-Anne or ANY member of ‘law enforcement’. As for you trying the newcomer approach – how’s that workin’ for ya? What did you expect when you come on here telling people what to do and not do?….meanwhile, you STILL HAVEN’T given your opinion on the topic!! At least I did…right before I got bashed for it…yet again! Interesting though, again, how this topic sat idle for quite a while…15 days to be exact and yet, Jo-Anne posts within 1 1/2 hours of Aprilshowers…

  31. Jo-Anne. • January 26, 2009 @ 11:50 AM

Just how many times can I reiterate, Nancy, call Tribute as you repeatedly feel the need to announce to everyone I am posting under other names. You know the answer to that. It’s untrue. Why do you keep persisting on this same line? Children, one hopes, learn learn from their mistakes.

an extremely easy thing to verify, yet you insist on posting your inaccuracies.

if anyone was interested, all they have to do is read the past/present commentaries here, I am aure they are capable of forming their own opinion on what is what. I am not ashamed of anything I have posted and would welcome, as I have stated many times, anyone to read what I have written, I am confident they can figure it all out.

when anyone disagrees with you, you seem to have a huge problem with accepting this and resort to immature remarks. I know you are an adult, from your own admission, yet fail to see anything adult on your above remark.

I think Aprilshowers understands the situation here and it bears repeating yet again to you, there is no need to start bullying her now because she isn’t in favour of your remarks.

  32. Jo-Anne. • January 26, 2009 @ 11:52 AM

    sorry, “sure”…

  33. Nancy • January 26, 2009 @ 1:45 PM

Again….I said it is “interesting” how you posted so close to this Aprilshowers…I never said it was YOU who commented under that name! I also never said that people, including but not limited to Aprilshowers, cannot form their own opinions, did I? As if I would EVER say they couldn’t…and I would definately hope that they would never take that advice if I did say it! What I am saying, and I shall repeat it to you YET ONCE AGAIN…is yes, you and I are at each others throats constantly…I’m NOT innocent in this…BUT NEITHER ARE YOU! At least one of us is “adult” enough to admit it!!

  34. Nancy • January 27, 2009 @ 6:12 PM

Oh, I would also like to know what part of my comment you consider “bullying”..??? And as for you saying that I “have a huge problem with accepting” differing opinions from my own and “resort to immature remarks”…………Hahahahahahahahahahahaha! Where do you come up with all this crap?

  35. tributegirl • January 27, 2009 @ 6:21 PM

“when anyone disagrees with you, you seem to have a huge problem with accepting this and resort to immature remarks”

As I’ve said before, pot calling the kettle black.

“As for tribute girl, you say I havent written an opinion”

    Yeah, that’s right, you haven’t.

“Perhaps the reason youve never seen aprilshowers before, was because I went under another name and switched it, just to see how you would react to a newcomer and I sure found out didnt I?”

Interesting. And lame. And pointless. So, what other names have you used on here? Let me guess, now you’re going to say “I didn’t actually say that I did, stop twisting my words!”

“Just how many times can I reiterate, Nancy, call Tribute…”

Want to know why I think Nancy hasn’t called them? Because for one, she’s not a big, whiny, crybaby, and for another, she’s smart enough to know that tribute probably doesn’t want to hear from big, whiny, crybabies!

  36. Jo-Anne • January 27, 2009 @ 8:18 PM

    and for another…she knows I’m correct…

  37. tributegirl • January 27, 2009 @ 9:51 PM

    Possibly……but I seriously doubt it.

  38. Nancy • January 27, 2009 @ 11:01 PM

    I doubt it too!!
