Cher considered for Catwoman in next Batman

According to respected British paper The Telegraph, Academy Award-winner and aging music icon Cher, 62, is seriously being considered to play Catwoman in the next Batman movie, opposite Christian Bale. “Cher is (Batman director Christopher) Nolan‘s first choice to play Catwoman. He wants to her to portray her like a vamp in her twilight years. The new Catwoman will be the absolute opposite of Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry‘s purring creations.” The latest Batman instalment, The Dark Knight, has earned an incredible $489.2 million at the domestic box office alone, and is still going strong, earning fourth place in last weekend’s box office race.
Just rumors I’ve heard. I hope she’s not in the next movie, that would kill it. But then agene people thought Heath Leadger was a bad choice for the jocker, and they were wrong. Who knows, maybe be were in for another surprise in casting for the next batman movie.
Please god no. If I have to see Cher in something skin tight, I will be light on the snacks before entering the movie.
Boy, were they wrong thinking the Joke was a bad fit for Heath…agree wholeheartedly, Beast.

Certainly one up on Jolie though. I guess the producers couldn’t chance a pregnant catwoman… ha ha
please anyone but her, so darn ugly and plastic.
Catwoman is suppose to be a young sexy character and not some well old used up pussycat. I think it would completely devastate the franchise and Nolan should have his nuts and bolts tightened because they’ve obviously become loose. May I suggest someone like Keira Knightley,Jessica Alba, Jessica Beal, Charlize Theron, Kate Mara, Kristin Kreuk, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kate Beckinsale, maybe even Brittany Murphy or someone new in the industry giving them a fighting chance. Heck I would even go as far as getting one of the Simpson sisters over the used up Cher who should not even be thought of for the role. SHE CAN’T EVEN ACT!!! She’s a singing diva that’s it folks, nothing more. But of course don’t take my word for it because as you know these Hollywood slackers have no real taste in quality over the last while.
Please Movie Gods, make this be truuuue !!! Cher would give Catwoman (and the 3rd Batman) a completely new twist, just like Ledger did with te Joker. Seriously: NO ONE knows how Cher would play Catwoman. No one expected her to. This is what’s so GREEAAAAT !

I think Cher is an interesting, albeit odd, choice for Catwoman. I think it would be a “make or break” situation. Either Cher would pull it off and surprise the hell out of millions of people or it would blow up in Nolan’s face and be the disaster everyone’s expecting. There’s not going to be an in-between. I would agree with the fact that Cher is definitely not my first choice in casting Catwoman but people reacted this way when Heath Ledger was cast as the Joker. It was the same situation and luckily Heath surprised the hell out of millions of people. I think it could be in interesting interpretation of Catwoman.
And regarding the comment that Cher can’t act which was made by “I am Right”, Cher has been nominated for 2 Academy Awards and actually won Best Actress in a Leading Role. In my opinion she’s a stunning actress and I honestly think she could pull it off.
Hahaha I would think she is, Jordie. As is Julie Newmar. But I think they would have been great choices haha.
Nolan, now is not the time to explore your perverse fantasies of older women!
Although a mature catwoman would be a different twist to the character, interesting. Older woman tend to be more intelligent than younger chicks so this would be interesting and more challenging to Batman indeed.
But Cher had better get rid of that weird accent of hers.
Catwoman is supposed to be the same age or younger than Batman, not some horny cougar!
I want to see Nolan fail for once. This might be it.
its not april 1st is it? even with the awesomness of his previous casting, this would be a HUGE mistake…if i could turn back time, i’d make him watch the cheesy video where she sits on a tank and wears her skintight non-outfit. yuck !!
p.s. jolie is the pick du jour, as hot as julie newmarr from the 60’s batman, especially with those cat-like eyes…purrrrrrrfect.

I have a suggestion. How about Naomi Watts as Catwoman?? I understand where he is coming from when he said he wanted Catwoman to be more like her twilight years, but compare pictures of Naomi Watts and Catwoman next to eachother and hopefully you will all agree.
