Cyrus takes being a role model seriously

Miley Cyrus, who plays Hannah Montana on the hit Disney TV series of the same name, told Oprah Winfrey on her talk show this week that she’s conscious about being a role model for young girls and dresses accordingly, explaining: “Nothing that’s too out there. I like to look kind of like what girls would want to look up to, and their moms and dads will say, ‘Hey, that’s cool. That’s different.’” Miley says she herself looks up to Hilary Duff, “because she’s someone that I got to watch, and I’m like, ‘Hey, she’s a normal girl.’” Her friends include her Hannah Montana costar Emily Osment, and Ashley Tisdale, of the Disney series The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and High School Musical. “I miss her so much,” Cyrus says of Tisdale, whom she hasn’t seen for a while due to their varying schedules. “Every time that I’m home, when I want to go see her, she’s working too. So I miss her a lot.”

   Miley is set to take center stage in “Hero: The Mariah Carey Story,” the big screen bio of the legendary pop diva. The casting could not be more perfect; not only do the two superstars hold a clutch of recording industry records between them, they even have the same initials!
