Debuts push The Hunger Games out of box office top spot

After four straight weekends at the top, The Hunger Games was booted out of first place at the box office to make way for two new movies. The comedy Think Like a Man, based on comedian Steve Harvey’s bestselling book Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man, debuted at number one, earning an impressive $33 million. It was also a hit with viewers, who gave it 4.2 stars out of a possible 5-star rating. Taking over the second-place spot was another debut, The Lucky One starring Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling, with $22.8 million and 4.1 stars at These two new releases pushed The Hunger Games way down to third, although it still managed to rake in an additional $14.5 million and a 3.5 star rating. The Disneynature documentary Chimpanzee, another one of this weekend’s successful debuts, swung into fourth place grossing $10.2 million. The adorable chimps also seemed to do a number on viewers, who are giving the film a noteworthy 4.6 stars. The comedy reboot of The Three Stooges, which surprisingly debuted last week at number two, rounds out the top five this week, hauling in an additional $9.2 million and 4.2 stars from viewers.

I love The Hunger Games, but it was time to change it up a bit. Thought Zac Efron’s abs would take the lead.
