Diane Lane will play U.S. secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton in a four-part NBC miniseries titled Hillary, according to an announcement made by NBC president Bob Greenblatt at the 2013 Summer Press Tour on Saturday. Lane, 48, will portray the former first lady’s life from 1998 to present day. “The script will begin with Clinton living in the White House as her husband (Bill Clinton) is serving the second of his two terms as president,” said the press release. “In the years following, she would eventually become a United States senator, run for president and, ultimately, serve the country as secretary of state.” The script will be written by Frozen River‘s Oscar-nominated writer/director Courtney Hunt. As for the role of Bill Clinton, an actor has yet to be cast. ~Alfonso Espina
