Dr. Phil drops Spears special

By Alexandra Heilbron on January 8, 2008 | 35 Comments

Dr. Phil McGrawDr. Phil McGraw has decided against taping an episode of his show on Britney Spears. He had planned to discuss the singer’s problems with her parents, Lynne and Jamie Spears, but the couple pulled out at the last minute. He made the following statement to Entertainment Tonight: “As was widely reported this weekend, at the request of concerned family members, I visited Britney Spears in the hospital. The details of that visit will, of course, remain private. We had planned to tape a ‘Dr. Phil Now’ show tomorrow, focusing not on the tabloid side of Britney’s latest problems, but instead on the very serious issues surrounding this case. Clearly, it is not just Britney’s family struggling to find a way to protect adult children who cannot be ordered or compelled to seek help. Because the Spears situation is too intense at this time, and out of consideration to the family, I have made the decision not to move forward with the taping at this particular time. Britney and her family are in our prayers and we ask that they be in yours.”

Dr. Phil looks like Dabney Coleman and Jeffrey Tambor rolled into one enormously sexy package.

  2. Anonymous • January 8, 2008 @ 12:54 PM

Dr Phil is an attention whore and his show is no better than the likes of Jerry Springer.

  3. Anonymous • January 8, 2008 @ 2:02 PM

I want to see pictures of Dr. Phil naked

  4. Anonymous • January 8, 2008 @ 5:47 PM

Just for the record – I am not the anonymous person who thinks this bag of **** is sexy and the he’s the ABSOLUTE LAST person I’d want to see naked. YUK!

To anonymous – are you sick (and in need of counselling yourself)?????

At least one other anonymous knows what Dr. Phil is all about!

  5. Gina • January 8, 2008 @ 7:20 PM

    There goes the Spears’ paycheque.

Who pulled out? The parents withdrew? Phil made the decision to not go through with the taping? My bet goes on Phil. Maybe that nice little aunty can do an episode. Someone has to do the damn thing, I want the inside scoop!

Hey Gina- welcome back! Haven’t seen your comments for a while; been sunning somewhere?

Dr. Phil Cannot raise enough dough to get Spears or family member on show.
Bi -Polar my butt, she doesn’t even look Inuit. She is palying this for all she can and she will cash in big time.

She will still do Phil or Oprah but it will be for a large chunk of change. Good for her as long as she quits the game before her kids are old enough to be effected.

  8. Anonymous • January 8, 2008 @ 11:14 PM

She’s definitely bi-polar. I saw her on an iceberg in a giant martini glass just yesterday in the Sahara. Lindsay and Paris were surfing on the big wave caused by the chunk that fell off due to global warming.

I just love how sympathetic everyone is for that poor drama queen.

It’s like we’re all peas in the same pod. lol

Dr. Phil is some hunk of man meat!

  11. me • January 9, 2008 @ 1:00 PM

I agree, Gina, I think Dr Phil pulled the plug on this, the Spears family wouldn’t have enough sense. I hope Dr Phil will work with them privately, until such time as he can put them on the show. I want her to get better, but I also want the full story!

  12. Anonymous • January 9, 2008 @ 11:54 PM

Slab (or is that slob) of man meat is more like it. There is definitely a YUK factor going on here and you just don’t see it.

If K-Fed pulled out, Britney wouldn’t be in half the mess she is in now.

  14. Gina • January 10, 2008 @ 1:06 AM

I daydream about Dr. Phil in a speedo.

  15. OMFG • January 10, 2008 @ 6:30 AM

WEEEEAAAK… Is it that soon after princess Dianna, that the media needs to exploit them right from the cradle now… You people keep fueling the fire. She’s just giving you what you want, something dirty to read. People don’t watch Dr. Phill for his heart warming solutions, they watch him break people down into pulp. Britney is just pulp from word go.. I’m glad whatever the reason for the spears episode was canceled. If not for this site I would never have even known about the pathetic attempt to create a cold fusion episode on britney and Dr.phil. Two media puppets, dancing for all the stupid mindless children to see… Somone do the them all a favour, and take em out! Then you blood thirsty hipocrits will have something worth paying attention too. PS, Gina… Grow up, what are you 13 years old, and do your daddy?

  16. K • January 10, 2008 @ 1:33 PM

WHO CARES! THE GUY’S AN IDIOT. OOOHHH, LET ME HELP BRITYNEY. GIVE ME A FREAKIN’ BREAK.

  17. me • January 10, 2008 @ 9:26 PM

To OMFG: What is your problem, man? I think you may just be having a breakdown similar to Britney’s! “You people keep fueling the fire”, ummmmm, in case you hadn’t noticed, YOU POSTED A COMMENT ON HERE TOO! And it was a very opinionated comment, so you really shouldn’t judge other people’s comments. And as far as you know, maybe Gina is 55 years old and Dr Phil resembles her late hubby or something!
Anyway, my hope for Britney is that she gets her brain back, and if Dr Phil can help with that, great. I don’t care who helps her, I just hope someone does before she ends up killing herself.

    Thanks! Unfortunately no sunning 🙁
Too much work and too tired at night. It’s year end and all the crap that goes with it. By the end of the day my eyes are so blurry I can’t even read the screen. Though, I’ve been an absolute b!tch during this time and probably should have come on to straighten you all out.

But I’m back and I miss all you guys! I didn’t get a chance to wish you all happy holidays and fantastic new year. I trust everyone had a great Christmas, Hanukkah etc. Anyone lucky enough to be still hung over from New Years?

  19. me • January 10, 2008 @ 10:01 PM

Nope, no hangover, had bad weather here in N.S. over New Years, so we just stayed home & had a nice family party with the kiddies. I’m glad you’re back Gina, but where is Nancy? Haven’t heard from her in awhile.

    me on January 10, 2008 10:01 pm

I’ve just started checking for her posts and see she hasn’t been on. Her last post was on Jan 6. Could she have found a man that has put her wagging tongue to better use? lol
Anyone else know what’s up and if she’s ok?

  21. Gina • January 10, 2008 @ 11:26 PM

    OMFG on January 10, 2008 6:30 am

OMFG is a nice nick for a mindless and immature adolescent, are YOU thirteen? It would be more suitable for teen chat than on this site. With a creative name like that, I would have thought you could do better for your link.

You berate us for reading and supporting this garbage, yet here you are with the rest of us hypocrites; all pumped and posting your pathetic little comment on the dirty celebrity gossip you just couldn’t help but read. My wager is that you will be back, under a different pseudonym.

  22. Anonymous • January 10, 2008 @ 11:38 PM

Gina (blue)- Happy belated back at you.

Gina (black)- are you sick? If you’re going to put a man in a speedo, kindly have it be a athlete with a great physique and package; not some overweight old fart like Dr. Phil.

Now we find out Dr. Phil is the one who “broke this story”. Talk about a serious lack of professional ethics. Time to have his license pulled.

  23. Gina • January 10, 2008 @ 11:49 PM

    Thanks, glad to be back

That is one show and guy that I just can’t stomach. The only show I’ve watched of his is on you tube when he had the idiot from bumfights on. If you havent seen this one, click my link for a chuckle. Check out the guys clothes and hair when he gets on the show.

  24. me • January 11, 2008 @ 10:11 AM

Gina’s not the only one who dreams of Dr. McGraw in a speedo. 🙂

  25. me • January 11, 2008 @ 2:21 PM

Grrrr, this other “me” is p*ssing me off! So now there are 2 “me”‘s and 2 “Gina”‘s? Gina, someone is messin us around here. Ok, I am the original “me”, and I love Dr Phil, but to see him in a speedo would make me toss my cookies! He’s the kind of guy you’d like to be casual friends with, but absolutely NOTHING romantic! Yeck!

  26. Gina • January 11, 2008 @ 6:29 PM

    me on January 11, 2008 2:21 pm

Yes, I know what you mean. Initially, black gina was getting under my skin, now I don’t bother to read the comments and couldn’t care less. I figure they must be one of our fans or envious, either way I’m flattered.

  27. me • January 11, 2008 @ 10:18 PM

I couldn’t have said it better myself.

  28. Phillip Drummond • January 11, 2008 @ 10:23 PM

I’ve always wanted to see Bea Arthur in a string bikini.

  29. me • January 12, 2008 @ 4:40 PM

“me” on Jan 11 at 10:18 is the fake, Gina, but she/he is right, you got it right. Think I’m gonna change my name, see if this other “me” keeps following me around. If so, I guess I’ve got a fan.

  30. Anonymous • January 12, 2008 @ 11:57 PM

Oh, this is just getting sooooo confusing. I thought it was bad when I (anonymous) had so many copycats. Now you too? I’m going to need to call Dr. Phil before I have a breakdown.

  31. me • January 13, 2008 @ 1:28 AM

    Me too.

  32. me • January 13, 2008 @ 3:21 PM

Yeah, there is some idiot out there copying some of us. Maybe it’s Nancy? Haven’t heard from her in quite a while now. Nah, I can’t see it being her, she isn’t afraid to be herself, unlike this chickensh*t.

  33. Gina • January 13, 2008 @ 4:50 PM

    me on January 13, 2008 3:21 pm

Why do you care? Use Anonymous’ name, or mine. I think we should all be blue Ginas; it would drive any newcomers crazy!

  34. Anonymous • January 14, 2008 @ 1:21 AM

Oh where, oh where has our Nancy gone?

When I count to three you will awaken and not remember the trauma of the holidays. All you will feel is a peaceful calm. One, two, three.

Welcome back Nancy. Glad you’re feeling so refreshed. Now, get busy and take care of those idiotic imitators out there!

  35. Phillip Drummond • January 14, 2008 @ 4:04 AM

Listen, the world don’t move to the beat of just one drum; what might be right for YOU, might not be right for SOME…
