Elijah Wood splits from girlfriend

Elijah Wood has split with his girlfriend Pamela Racine. The Lord of the Rings actor – who has been dating the Gogol Bordello drummer for more than five years – broke off the relationship because he couldn’t commit to her long-term. A friend said: “Elijah just didn’t want to settle down. The last thing he wanted to do was hurt Pamela, but she’s pretty cut up about the break-up.” The pair met on the set of 2005 adventure movie Everything Is Illuminated, which starred Elijah and Pamela’s band. Elijah has been notoriously private about his relationship, but Liev Schreiber – who directed the 29-year-old star in Everything Is Illuminated – previously claimed he has a “sincere goodness as a human being” and a “generosity of spirit.” Despite keeping their partnership quiet, the pair were often seen together at events – she often accompanied him to movie premieres and they were both a regular of fashion week shows. However, at the recent premieres for his new movie The Romantics in New York and San Francisco, Pamela was not in attendance.

He was such a beautiful little boy.

He dated her for 5 years but could not commit to her long term? Something must be wrong there. Either he has a few issues or she does. No one can date for that long and then just simply break it off. Where’s the rest of the story?

He’s gay and probably has finally decided to come out of the closet. He’s also a troll. Ick.

    @ Jamalia

LOL now now lets not be shy tell us how you really feel.

Yeah, you think he would have decided he didn’t want to be with her LONG before the five year mark…ah well, who knows.

Is anybody else sick of the Hollywood garbage? Liev Schreibed claimed he has a “sincere goodness as a human being” and a “generosity of spirit.” What has that got to do with anything? He is just a regular guy, nothing special. He wants all the glory of a girlfriend, but doesn’t want to commit. Good job she realized it and is ready to move on with someone who will be serious. Simple as that.

    there’s no “magic” relationship number…if it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work….

a lot can happen in five years, people “settle” for things and then decide settling just doesn’t cut it…one life to live, why not live it in a relationship that works? “putting in” five years, to me, shouldn’t destine a life partnership…

besides, much more importantly, who would want to remain in a relationship with someone who doesn’t share the same level of feelings as they do?

Wow… these days people are splitting up after how long they were together for. This generation is just not the same as the past.

Samantha on September 28, 2010 11:05 AM i agree. i dont like this pic of him now though 😛

Jo-Anne on September 28, 2010 3:12 PM dumb question, how did you feel about the jolie/pitt thing? because i agree with what you said 150%, im just wondering if you believe that with every relationship or just some? too bad more people didnt feel that way.

cindy on September 28, 2010 4:48 PM in the past people were willing to put up with misery, abuse, spouses who cheat etc. this generation was raised if youre not happy, move on. theres nothing holding people in a relationship that isnt making them happy, especially now that divorce became much easier to obtain.

sorry, mandee which jolie/pitt thing did you mean exactly? I don’t recall…

I feel really strongly about not remaining in any relationship that is not working for you. Life is too precious to spend “okay” time with someone when fulfillment with a special someone could be realized. I’m not advocating (yes, cuz it needs to be said, lest others pounce needlessly in response) partner weekly swaps. I feel passionate about life and this same passion should accompany that one on one relationship…
