Hayden PanettiereActress turned singer: it worked for Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff—and now Hayden Panettiere is taking a stab at success in the pop music world. The Heroes star is banking on the popularity of her hit TV show, and her sponsorship deals with Candie’s and Neutrogena, to get her music career in full-swing. The 18-year-old actress released her first single “Wake Up Call” on Ryan Seacrest’s L.A. radio show Tuesday, saying she was “terrified” of hearing herself on the radio. Panettiere’s describes her music as “very different, very diverse. Like pop, rock—maybe more of an R&B thing.” The album, four years in the making, is set for release in 2009.

Is it just me or does she sound a little like Paris Hilton does in her music videos? Gee, selling sexiness without much of a voice… what a novel concept.

Come on, people! This is a disposable pop product soon to share space in the bargain bins with all the crap spawned from AMERICAN IDOL. It’s no biggie.

Good for her! Who knows? Maybe she’s the next Miley.

I am so disappointed when I see 18 year old children acting like a Las Vegas strip act during these videos and singing about a guy “bedding ” her. Where are the parents?

What a putrid piece of crap. Great, ANOTHER lousy role model for teen girls.

  10. Moe • July 18, 2008 @ 12:17 PM

Her face looks really weird when she tries to sing.

    Four years in the making?

Heroes premiered at the end of 2006, which was two years ago. So who gave 14 year old Hayden Panettiere a record contract back in 2004?

  13. Alex • July 18, 2008 @ 2:14 PM

Wow, that song is really tacky.

  14. Lexie • July 18, 2008 @ 2:18 PM

Miley Cyrus scored a record contract at 14. What’s your point? Are you saying Hayden wasn’t a star at 14? She’s been in movies since she was a little kid, look it up in her bio. At 11, she was in a movie with Hilary Swank. At 14, she was playing Kate Hudson’s niece in Raising Helen.

Her lyrics are digusting, and I am a teen, it’s one thing to do something, but it’s another to be a teen and sing about it.
“you think because you bed me you dont have to work” that is so trashy sounding. “maybe I’ll just have to cheat to keep your eyes on me” that is skanky, if she wants people to respect her as an artist, don’t put that s**t in your songs. I like her as an actress she is good, I can appreciate that aspect, but sing in the shower and don’t pollute the airwaves with this garbage !!

wow Angela good for you I’m glad to hear comments like that coming from a teenager…it is pretty unbelievable the things that young kids say and do now a days it makes me wonder about their parents…

  17. tributegirl • July 18, 2008 @ 8:36 PM

I’m glad I had a chance to check this out first, my children will NOT be listening to this garbage.
Hey Angela! Haven’t seen you on here for awhile, I’ve been wondering if maybe your big event happened! If so, let us in on the good news, if not, when do you expect it to happen?

  18. Amber • July 18, 2008 @ 10:53 PM

    Bob, you are absolutely right.
MY first instinct was that this video resembles SO MUCH of paris hiltons’s videos.

  19. Nancy • July 18, 2008 @ 11:23 PM

    Totally agree with ya, Angela!

  20. LostWolff • July 19, 2008 @ 1:41 AM

well damn look at that..there is something really wrong here…
How could you not love that rapping bit near the end? I guess the next step is underwearless skirt flash, from there we get to watch her drug out until she becomes nothing but a shell of her waisted life. ^_^
that’s one more lost to the media,

    Not everything is for everybody.

  22. I Can Fart the Theme from Jaws • July 20, 2008 @ 11:35 PM

Hayden couldn’t make a bad album if she tried. Incidentally, “Hayden” is a GREAT name for a band.

  23. Anonymous • July 21, 2008 @ 4:38 PM

Is she going to tour also?

  24. Rachael • July 29, 2008 @ 5:06 PM

Aw, no, not Hayden… 🙁 I thought she seemed like a good role model. Doesn’t seem like it anymore. Noooooo!

    I’m disappointed in you, Hayden.
