Heath Ledger and daughter MatildaHeath Ledger‘s will left everything to his parents and sister and nothing to his two-year-old daughter, Matilda or Matilda’s mother, Michelle Williams. It was filed in Australia in 2003 and Ledger had not updated it since his daughter was born. According to documents filed in Manhattan Surrogate’s Court, Heath had less than $145,000 in New York assets at the time, including a $25,000 Toyota Prius and $20,000 in furniture. However, Heath’s father Kim Ledger released a statement saying: “Matilda is our absolute priority and Michelle is an integral part of our family. They will be taken care of and that’s how Heath would want it to be.”

As it should be. Heath’s Father sounds like a very fine gentleman indeed.

Bet his bank account was a fair size though! And yeah, I guess Grandpa would want to be a stand-up guy and do the right thing. After all, it is what his son would want, and it also insures that Grandpa will get to be a part of his granddaughter’s life.

He does. Too bad Heath hadn’t taken care of this after her birth, but that happens.

Well its not like Williams or Matilda will ever go hungry. She has and will always have a lot of money from her acting career. So not to include them in the will does not seem out of place at all.

Yes they will be taken care of. Both of them will be well off anyway regardless if they were in the will or not.

What’s wrong with this whole picture with Heath Ledger. Did he really not have that much money? That’s what this article is saying. What about his Batman role and his other movie The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus? Also what about income from previous movies?

I can’t believe he would not have left millions to his family. He was a talented and respected actor.

Anyone care to comment on this article or clarify?

hope his money is stashed in tax haven countries so there is a good chunk available to that little girl instead of greedy tax men and lawyers.

If the lawyers say there wasn’t much money left in estate there isn’t much money left. DO you think they would be hiding it? I mean….
