Here’s something new – a Victoria Day movie!

victoria_dayWe’ve all seen movies that revolve around Thanksgiving, Christmas and/or Halloween, but have you ever seen a movie that takes place on Victoria Day weekend? E1 Entertainment Canada is releasing Victoria Day on June 19. Filmed in Toronto, the movie premiered at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and is scheduled to screen at Cannes as well. It’s a mystery about Jordan — a teen who goes missing just before the May holiday. Another teenager, Ben, who’s a talented hockey player, gets involved because he gave Jordan $5 to buy drugs the day he disappeared. Feeling conflicted, especially when the police show up at his door, Ben offers his help to Jordan’s sister, which brings even more conflict into his life. Hockey, fireworks, mystery and romance — sounds pretty exciting!

Hmmmm…one would think that they would have released it a month sooner. You know, in time for Victoria Day…?

I’ll be talking to the film’s star Mark Rendall and the director the first week of June. Watch for those interviews right here on tribute.ca

Sounds like something I’d wait for on video if at all. Definitely not paying to go to the theatre on this one. Is it suspense or horror? I hate horror
