Hilary Duff’s dad behind bars

Haylie and Hilary DuffHilary Duff’s father was handcuffed and sentenced to 10 days in jail on Wednesday. According to the Houston Chronicle, Hilary’s mom, Susan, took her ex-husband Bob to court because she wanted $25,000 to spend on Hilary’s party. During cross examination, Bob’s lawyer, Robert Piro, asked Susan if her “adult millionaire daughter” would be upset if she did not receive an expensive gift and party for her birthday. Susan responded that Hilary “is emotionally upset by the abandonment of her father” and deserves “to have some kind of recognition for a young life well-lived.” Bob, who stayed behind in Houston when his wife moved their two daughters to Los Angeles over a decade ago to pursue their careers, pays $10,000 a month in support. The judge ruled that Bob would have to pay half — $12,500 — but then went on to sentence him to jail for contempt of court for selling stocks in the amount of $367,537, because divorce paper decree he’s not allowed to sell assets without first getting court approval. Susan gasped: “This isn’t what I wanted,” when deputies fingerprinted Bob and led him away in handcuffs. Of course not. Looks like all she wanted was to extract more cash from her ex, even though money is not scarce in the Duff household, thanks to her successful actress/singer daughters (Hilary and her 23-year-old sister Haylie). As he was being led away, Bob said he wanted to talk to a reporter but couldn’t because of a gag order. “I wish I could,” he said. “I’ve got a lot to say.”

this is an absolutely nauseating storyline – along with all recent storylines on Duff Dad and Duff Greedy Guts Mom.

Can’t believe that Mom isn’t already on the H & H Duff Inc. payroll – the $10K/month seems like it was a slap to the man’s face for not chauffering the kids around to their gigs while he was, maybe, working for a living? Why do powerful families seek public litigation (the law firms charges will make the $25K seem like pocket change) to do their malicious dirty work? This makes these 2 young ladies seem like: a) they may be more dysfunctional than apparent if they’re from such dysfunctional parents, and/or b) the sisters are negligent for not knowing about or preventing this shameful business from ever happening.

It still amazes me that with the gas prices and recession going on, that these people have the audasity to whine and complain about $25,000. I don’t even make that in a full year with one child to support.

Well, supposedly Mom just wants Dad to treat the 2 girls equally…and $25,000 was spent on Haylie’s 21st b.day party so she wants the same to be spent on Hilary’s party on Sept. 28. I think Mom has alterior motives though!!

That must be some party mom is planning on throwing! These girls seem so wholesome – what’s wrong with their mom?
Hilary has done very well for herself despite “being emotionally upset by the abandonment of her father”. It certainly hasn’t interfered with her career, so why would it interfere with her birthday party?
