Key cities host Spider-Man event with celebrity Q&A

Fans and press around the world got a sneak peek of the new Spider-Man and the chance to see the lead actors to answer several question that had been floating around. Excited Spider-Man enthusiasts gathered in key cities including New York, Los Angeles and Rio de Janeiro for a special event organized by Sony Pictures to promote The Amazing Spider-Man. In New York City the excited audience met at Regal Union Square theater. Director Marc Webb appeared onscreen from Los Angeles, welcoming the crowd and expressing his excitement about showing them new material. The feed then switched to Rio where Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy) was introduced, before the feed switched to London, where Rhys Ifans was joined by an announcer. As the spotlight focused back on New York City, their guest of honor was revealed: none other than Spider-Man himself, Andrew Garfield. After viewing the 3-D trailer, the stars tackled some key questions, with Stone emphasizing the difference between Gwen Stacy and the previous love interest Mary Jane Watson, saying, “Gwen is the yin to Mary Jane’s yang.” She added that Gwen falls in love with Peter while Mary Jane falls in love with Spider-Man. After the Q&A, fans and press were treated to extra footage including Peter Parker waking up to his new powers. ~Rodrigo Cokting
