Melissa Leo, 50, who won an Oscar this year for her work as Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale‘s mother in The Fighter, is writing a memoir that promises to be revealing. Publisher Simon & Schuster says the book will cover Leo’s decades of working in both television and film, as well as her childhood and her stormy relationship with ex-boyfriend actor John Heard, who is also the father of her 24-year-old son, Jack. In 1997 Heard was charged with stalking Leo, Jack and her new boyfriend, and with harrassing her by phone. The autobiography is slated for release in 2013. ~Alexandra Heilbron

I used to love her in The Young Riders, with Josh Brolin.
This should be a worthwhile read. Leo’s one of the best character actors working today (watch the show Treme if you don’t believe me). I’m curious what she will say about the late Alice Ward, who she played in The Fighter. Still, let’s hope she doesn’t drop the “F” bomb too much.
VERY INTERESTING,indeed. 🙂 All right. 8)
I was intterested in giving this Treme show a try, Jordan, will look into it now…
enjopy her acting tremendously, her personal speeches/interviews/memoirs I’ll pass on…she should ease up on the eye makeup, not a good look…
She was great in The Fighter, it sounds like it’ll be an interesting book. I doubt she’ll hold much back.
Meh.
