Sacha Baron Cohen will play Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, who died of AIDS in 1991, in a new biopic. The British comedian is best known as the man behind comedy characters such as Borat, Bruno and Ali G, two of which have been made into films. The movie has the support of Freddie’s former bandmates Brian May, John Deacon and Roger Taylor, and will be made by GK Films with a screenplay written by Peter Morgan. “Freddie Mercury was an awe-inspiring performer, so with Sacha in the starring role coupled with Peter’s screenplay and the support of Queen, we have the perfect combination to tell the real story behind their success,” GK Film’s Graham King said. The drama, which does not yet have a title, will focus on the period leading up to Queen’s iconic show at 1985’s Live Aid charity concert that raised money for famine victims in Africa.

Queen will be performing alongside Adam Lambert at this year’s Academy Awards ceremony on Sunday. They will be performing the smash hit “We Will Rock You.”
This should be hilarious, considering he looks nothing like Freddie
He kinda looks like him. Doesn’t he?
Put a mustashs on him and maybe. But really nobody thought Jim Carey could look like Andy Kaufman in the Man on the Moon, or Toby playing Spider-man (even though that’s not a bio pic), some people can just pull it off with talent and adjusting weight, make up etc. I’d totally watch this and maybe it will just (Surpise surprise)- Rock You!
