The Boy and the Heron takes top spot at weekend box office

The brand new animated movie The Boy and the Heron debuted at the top of the weekend box office, with a total of $12.8 million.
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes held onto second place, taking in an extra $9.4 million for a four-week haul of $135.7 million.
The Japanese action film Godzilla Minus One stayed in third place during its second weekend in theaters, earning an additional $8.3 million for a two-week total of $25.3 million.
The animated movie Trolls Band Together remained in fourth place, taking in an additional $6.2 million for a three-week total of $83 million.
Rounding out the top five was the animated movie Wish from Disney, earning an extra $5.3 million for a total of $49.4 million.
