A first I had no interest in this movie at all, than I saw one trail or that really pulled me in. There is a twisted mystery about this story, and I am betting that it is even better in the book. Authors have a way of painting a more elaborate picture.I would like to read the book more than see the flick.

I have not yet seen the film, but when I do, I would like to have the book to read and compare the author’s execution of the story to director David Fincher’s.

  51. Heather • October 10, 2014 @ 12:45 PM

I want to win because I loved the movie, and am very interested in psychology (and currently dealing with someone somewhat similar to Amy), so I would like to read the book to see how much further it delves into her psyche.

  52. Kristy • October 10, 2014 @ 12:46 PM

It is in my opinion best to read books before seeing the movie version, you can so much more insight as to the story line, character development etc. I have heard a lot of great things about the movie so far and am very interested in reading the book first.

  53. Patty • October 10, 2014 @ 12:47 PM

  57. Betty MacDonald • October 10, 2014 @ 12:57 PM

I went to see the movie on Tuesday night and I though it was a great movie. There wasn’t a noise in the theatre. I think that the story in the book is better than the movie because it’s just not possible to put every bit of the story in a movie. I’m a person that reads at least 6-8 books a month.

  58. Bonnie Monette • October 10, 2014 @ 12:57 PM

i have been an avid reader since I was a young girl. There are just so many good books out there I would read 24/7 if I could. This one would be fantastic to win – loved the movie!

  70. Kaitlin MacDougall • October 10, 2014 @ 1:16 PM

I haven’t seen it yet. I want to read the book first. I bought the book originally, but my mom who lives in N.S. (i live in Ont) immediately said she wanted to read it, so I sent it to her in a care package. I would to get another copy soon so I can go see it before it leaves theatres.

  71. Elaine Mitchell • October 10, 2014 @ 1:16 PM

  72. Jojo • October 10, 2014 @ 1:23 PM

The reason I should win a copy is because Gillian Flynn is a great writer and I’d like to add this to my collection of her works.

  79. Donna Bologna • October 10, 2014 @ 1:45 PM

I haven’t seen the movie yet but I would love to read the book first. There is always more information in books. I love these kind of stories, trying to solve a mystery…..the who-did-it factor, It fascinates me, so I would be very excited to win this book!

  80. Debbie Zyla • October 10, 2014 @ 1:50 PM

always like to read the book first – love these type of books and trying to figure it out

  81. marlene wilkes • October 10, 2014 @ 1:55 PM

Often times when a book is made into a movie, its hard to include everything. Background on characters, what people are thinking. I feel there was more to the parents & Neil Patrick Harris’s characters which is why I would like to read the book.

  82. Susan Hanley • October 10, 2014 @ 1:55 PM

I saw the movie last weekend and really liked the movie except for the ending. I was a little confused. I read some things were not included in the movie and that the book explains the ending. So, I would like to read the book to better understand why it ended in such a crappy way.

  83. NAT • October 10, 2014 @ 1:57 PM

I WANT TO READ THE BOOK WAY BEFORE I SEE THE MOVIE. THE ENDING OF THE MOVIE WAS SPOILED FOR ME AND I WANT THE REAL STORY FIRST

I’d like to read the book before I see the movie, and it’s had great reviews.

  89. Thelma Ball • October 10, 2014 @ 2:21 PM

Because I prefer to open a new book, inhale its fresh, pages and relax in a comfy chair with a good cuppa rather than line up in a crowded theatre with the overwhelming scent of hot butter; be forced to sit too closely to the screen (ending up with a stiff neck for days), listen to the loud man behind me chatter incessantly while constantly rattles his chip bag and continually crunching in my ear !! This book also has great reviews LOL

  90. Thuy N • October 10, 2014 @ 2:25 PM

Would love to read the book and compare it to the movie. Thanks!

  91. Corey B. • October 10, 2014 @ 2:27 PM

I’m happy to say I was wrong – I have heard and read great reviews for this book and wish that I had bought it. Now I’m hoping I can get it for free as my funds are depleted for new books 🙂

I appreciate the opportunity to be able to win this book. I have just completed the last round of several major surgeries over the past 2 years with some success I am now in recovery: having this wonderful opportunity is a blessing to actually win will be another blessing. I am hopeful that one day that I may be able to go out and see the actual movie but in the meantime to win the book and to be able to read the story would be greatly appreciated. I saw an interview on a TV program called Sunday Mornings about Gillian Flynn and her book Gone Girl. I found her and the story gone girl so amazing that I really want to read this book and perhaps her other books that she has written. What a creative and imaginative mind that she has and what a talented gift she shares with so many to enjoy.
