Writers want to bar Jennifer Aniston film

Love HappensTwo screenwriters are claiming that the plot of Jennifer Aniston‘s new movie, Love Happens, was stolen from them, according to papers obtained by TMZ. Greg Crowder and Tony Freitas have filed a lawsuit against NBC Universal executives, saying that in 2006 they submitted a screenplay titled The Truth to Scott Bernstein, who was then VP of Production for Universal Pictures. During meetings with Bernstein, the writers were told their screenplay needed a rewrite before Universal would buy it. However, when executives refused to pay for the rewrite, the deal fell apart. Three years later, after revising the original script, the writers offered it to another film company, but were told they were “concerned that [they] might have stolen” the script from “Love Happens.” Crowder and Freitas want NBC Universal to be barred from releasing the film on September 18, or if it does get released, they want the profits, which they estimate to be more than $100,000,000.

wish Greg and Tony well in their endeavours to retrieve their cash….

film looks like a complete waste of my time but would like to see these guys get their fair share if indeed the original was theirs…

this movie will NEVER come close to 100million dollars. It’s a bad film with a theme that has been used many times.

I have to agree with David – this one’s a dud. But I do hope these guys get some of the profits from it, whatever amount that is.
