Jodie Foster stalker arrested after bomb threat

A man who has been allegedly stalking actress Jodie Foster was arrested for mailing a bomb threat to an airport. Michael Smegal, 42, of Holliston, Massachusetts, could get up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted. He’s accused of mailing the threatening letter to the Van Nuys Airport last December, as well as more than 100 letters sent to celebrities, airports and businesses in the past year — hoping they would reach Screen Actors Guild members whom he believed had made disparaging remarks about Foster. All of the letters contained references to Foster, who began receiving anonymous letters and packages from Massachusetts in 2004. In 2005, DNA evidence proved Smegal was behind them, and he promised to stop after being confronted by police. This isn’t Foster’s first encounter with an obsessed fan. She was stalked in her teens by John Hinckley Jr., who made an assassination attempt on U.S. President Ronald Reagan to impress her.
What’s wrong with some of these people. No one stalks Jodie Foster she belongs to Hannibal Lecter!!!

Lesbian or not, she’s one of the greatest acting talents of all time…not to mention she is a class-act in all her directorial/production work as well. And, NO, I’m not a lesbian, just a fan of her body of work.
Uh, yeah, ok Constance, I’m not a lesbian either but I really like her work too. This story is about a stalker and some of us were saying that maybe if this dude knew she was a lesbian he’d change his mind on her, I said he probably thinks he’s macho enough to change her. We all know she’s an excellent talent.
I love Jody, she’s one of the last great actors in Hollywood.
