Justin Bieber wanted in police investigation

By Alexandra Heilbron on June 14, 2012 | 42 Comments

Following an alleged altercation with a photographer last month, Justin Bieber flew out of the country for scheduled performances. However, California police say he is now wanted for questioning and they want to speak to him regarding the incident when he returns to the States this Friday. Bieber is accused of assaulting a member of the paparazzi at a shopping center in Calabasas, California. His girlfriend, Selena Gomez, was with him at the time.

The photographer was treated at a nearby hospital and then released, but he is considering filing a civil suit against the singer. Los Angeles-based lawyer Anahita Sedaghatfar told Fox News: “[Bieber] will definitely be called in for questioning. This is a high-profile case which has gotten a ton of media attention… the police will have to get his side of the story in order to determine whether to dump the case or turn it over to prosecutors.” However, she added that the paparazzo is likely just looking for “monetary compensation,” saying, “It is unlikely there will be any criminal charges filed… We’ve seen this time and time again, celebrities being accused of minor crimes like this.”

he’s becoming too important if he thiks its ok to attack photographers. hate stars who want to be famous but dontt want the attention one it comes.

  2. Alex • June 14, 2012 @ 9:45 AM

I understand if they get into your personal space, which they do. Perhaps the pap even did it on purpose to instigate him.

Justin Bieber is starting to look like Anne Murray.

  4. mystikalduke • June 14, 2012 @ 11:52 AM

I’m not a JB fan, but the photographer admittedly pulled his vehicle up in front of Bieber’s vehicle when he and Selena were getting in it to leave where they were. The photographer was definitely looking for trouble! Yes, when you are a celebrity you have to put up with photographers jumping out of no where to take your pictures, but they also have the right to get into their vehicles and drive off without being blocked in! If the photographer had just asked for a picture instead of being an @$$ about it, this story probably wouldn’t even be happening! The photographer is just looking to make some easy money!!!

I think anyone would dislike being accosted by reporters… Just because a person is a celeb, doesn’t give the paparazzi the right to be disrespectful and invade their privacy… remember what happened to Princess Di? I wonder how those photographers would like being hounded relentlessly themselves?

I agree Dee,The papararros are ruthless and downright ignorant .Funny we’ve never hear this kind of thing i Canada♥

Justin is a good kid. He asked very politely and nicely to please move but the photographer ignored him and kept harassing him. The photographer knows that Justin is very popular and is looking to make a quick million bucks – If they actually charge him it would be very ridiculous – but I wouldn’t worry very much for he has a great team behind him.

Anne Murray- dead wringer. Good catch.

The fact remains..don’t step into the spotlight if you can’t handle the fame!!!

  10. deejay • June 14, 2012 @ 2:20 PM

    WHO CARES !! ??

  11. barb juer • June 14, 2012 @ 2:39 PM

some people are just so so greedy

  12. Lola • June 14, 2012 @ 2:43 PM

OMG….he does look like Anne Murray…maybe his voice will deepen and he can impersonate her when his popularity is gone! Second career!

  13. Wendy • June 14, 2012 @ 3:15 PM

Let’s give the kid a break….just remember how very YOUNG he still is.

  14. Sherry • June 14, 2012 @ 4:18 PM

He’s just so famous everyone wants to attack him. I’m sure the guy got too close he was trying to get away and he went to hospital and is sueing to get free money. People pick on this poor guy cause he is worth millions, he left to finish a tour he wasn’t running away, he had someplace to be.

  15. vicster • June 14, 2012 @ 4:24 PM

hey we all have a right to our private lives even the stars do and it is pathetic that these photographers cannot leave them alone okay if courtesy ask for a picture but to be in their faces all the time is nonsense look what happened to Diana. Beiber is young and needs to be left alone and California police must understand that we can only take so much. The photographer is out for money and did not need hospital attention just went there to get it so he can sue the Beibers butt. Lola take a chill pill.

  16. vicster • June 14, 2012 @ 4:26 PM

He does not come close to looking like Anne Murray and why are you comparing him to her just because they are CANADIANS!!! We are the best for you all to talk about us. Hee hee..

  17. Debbie • June 14, 2012 @ 5:27 PM

These photographers should be charged when they get aggresive. Maybe they should start using good manners, they should not be allowed to block, harass and annoy those they want to photograph.

  18. lila • June 14, 2012 @ 5:35 PM

This is what the paps do…they’re bottom feeders.

  19. Jeff • June 14, 2012 @ 6:26 PM

Haha this is amazing, but I agree with Debbie above – the photos SHOULD be charged when they get too aggressive. Look at what happened to Lady Di for a worst case scenario of this.

  20. LuvMyVamps! • June 14, 2012 @ 6:33 PM

Dude looks like a lady lol.

  21. likeit1 • June 14, 2012 @ 6:47 PM

Justin is no longer a kid…he can throw a nasty punch. Look out Papppoopoorazzi

  22. Josh • June 14, 2012 @ 7:24 PM

Yeah, it figures, some posting comments on here and oh so ignorant and jealous. The kid is loved by millions all over the world, no denying this EH! If he’s such a flake etc etc blah blah blah, why ya reading the story and commenting and why do you care? For this latest event, the photog moron got in his face BECAUSE Justin didn’t have his full arsenal of security there to protect him and the photog must think he’s one tough guy. Funny how in the end and after JB won’t be charged and when he’s through with this turd of a camera geek, there WILL be a full-on all-out assault on the turd so hopefully HIS lawyer can go head-to-head with JB’s team. Will be a true LOL situation since JB ain’t taking sh*t from anyone and any person with common sense knows the idiot with a camera (probably still uses a Polaroid) thought he was a tough guy and can just do whatever he wants. Imagine later, getting teased by your peers, “Justin Bieber PUNKED YOUR DUMB *SS!” Now THAT IS FUNNY STUFF. I don’t like to ‘diss Americans but it sure seems like some are backwoods, teeth-pickin’ hillbillies with sawdust for brains “EH”

  23. Mike Ram • June 14, 2012 @ 7:26 PM

I can wait until he starts drinking and punching out aholes like that dipstick.

  24. Josh • June 14, 2012 @ 7:28 PM

Oh yeah, the Papapusssssssyyyyyyyy Shutter-Geek should just move on up to faking getting bumped by vehicles in parking lots where senior citizens are backing up.

The guy is an A-1 tool and I would have loved to have been there when he was clutching his chest “MY HEART MY HEART, BIG SCARY JUSTIN BIEBER HIT ME!!!!” If the guy was flopping around on the ground and needed assistance, I would have just taken pictures and laughed

  25. Mike • June 14, 2012 @ 8:26 PM

If the Beibs did do this, then I would willing get charged, pay the fine, contribute some hours towards community service…. just don’t give any money to this guy! I don’t think he would be sued if the idiot was proven to instigate it… not sure if that would work, but anything not to pay him out!

  26. slick • June 14, 2012 @ 9:09 PM

    leave it to bieber =)

  27. Jax • June 15, 2012 @ 12:38 AM

I can’t believe all the ignorant people who make stupid comments like ‘Justin looks like Anne Murray.’ You can tell by the lack of substance that the same people write in all the comment sections of celebrity stories in Tribute Moviemail. I respect Justin Bieber and find him to be a kind and intelligent young man. I have seen him on talk shows and everyone loves him. As for the photographer, I bet he didn’t get injured and is trying to get as much money from suing Justin as he can. What a lying creep!

  28. squirt • June 15, 2012 @ 2:17 AM

HAHA re: Anne Murray comment! @vicster: what you said made no sense.

  29. Unknown • June 15, 2012 @ 8:53 AM

I think Justin Bieber is NOT the culprit because he is young(well, some young people MAY be thieves,pickpockets,etc.). I apologize if he really was the culprit… Why is the world full of bad
stuff? Everyone should work together and unite like the very united elephants. They travel together and protect each other. They even protect other elephant’s young. Animals are setting an example.

  30. Marlene Joly • June 15, 2012 @ 9:37 AM

Leave this nice young Canadian alone to make music and entertain the world. The damned paparazzi have ruined enough lives in this world and we have seen the evidence of this time and time over so if they are going to hound people the way they do then they have to be ready to suffer the consequences of their actions. Justin handled this situation the way anyone would have who was put in the situation I am sure. He does have the right to some privacy when not performing. Oh damn what happens to Canadians when they go to America to follow their dream they can’t have their lives anymore but can make millions and is it all worth it. Come home more often where you can walk down the street without this harrassment.

  31. Rita Schmid • June 15, 2012 @ 10:42 AM

This is ridiculous. Justin sings and shares his gift with the world. We should be so thankful, he is a very young person with a huge gift. We need to practice thankfulness and stop with all the gossip and hounding of this young man.

As for does he look like Anne Murray? Really shame on the lot of you, he looks like himself. Everyone is uniquely and wonderfully made. Besides when did everyone get so catty. We all need to mature and get working on ourselves and leave the talented musicians alone when they are off the stage to live normal lives. They are already sharing enough of themselves on the stages where they perform.

  32. david cheung • June 15, 2012 @ 12:02 PM

I just want to upgrade of justin bieber news & album

  33. Marcia Ryan • June 15, 2012 @ 2:56 PM

“alsom all Justin threw was a shoe at the guy. I saw it happen in front of Regal Edwards 6 cinema in Calabasas.”

I thought this was over weeks ago when I first heard the police in California wanted his side of the story. Well, he’s back so according to this remark he needs to straighten yet another little problem out with the police. Was it a shoe or was it a punch in the chest? Follow the evidence…whether paparazzi hound a public figure or not, in Canada or America, right or wrong…it’s a job. JB chose the entertainment field (u-tube was his start) and to keep a high profile he needs publicity. Many a youth became famous and lost the Fab Fame. Justin you’re a lucky young man, keep doing what you are doing and bad press is going to follow you around. Do the right thing and go give your statement to the police. Don’t start the belief you are above the law and money can buy people off. I don’t know the age group that was defending JB however there was a inkling of violence and justification being ok as long as it is JB or his fans. NOT GOOD in my opinion.

  34. Missy • June 15, 2012 @ 3:46 PM

With puny little arms like that Bieber couldn’t hurt a fly. The photographer is full of it.

  35. Ross Murray • June 15, 2012 @ 7:51 PM

    – I’ve thought for some time there should be more and tighter restrictions on papparazzi and the like. If genuine reporters are investigating criminal behaviour, that’s one thing, but these obnoxious clods are in the face of people just going about their business far, far too much. Celebrity or the lack thereof is irrelevant; people need somewhat less freedom OF the press and somewhat more freedom FROM the press. … and from cell phone cameras, etc., etc. If you’re willing to stick your nose so close in other people’s business, you’d better be ready to get punched!

  36. Landon • June 17, 2012 @ 12:47 AM

Personally Justin Bieber maybe should have realized what he was getting into when he became a star and i hope he gets fined and maybe even into jail because he is a kid that needs to hit puberty and hasn’t hit it yet and needs to stop being a baby

  37. Laura • June 18, 2012 @ 8:23 PM

I find it funny how there is so much evidence of him that he is rude and a very angry person, yet so many “true fans” or “true beliebers” defend him. So many say that hes such a sweet guy and works hard or w.e, that it was probably someone else poking at the situation just to get him to react when actually most of the time, people do nothing wrong & yet he still goes off on them. His behaviour sometimes is so uncalled for & no matter what there is always a better way to deal with things or to handle a situation and Justin has just been proving he has no idea how to behave at all.

  38. Debbie M • June 19, 2012 @ 4:00 PM

you know Laura i do not give a darn how famous you are the media is out of control, The paparazzi deserve a punch in the head. i know quite a few stars they are like every other human being, being an actor is a job and a passion like everything else. and people work hard to make it. but there is such a thing called respect and consideration, just because they are famous does not give anyone the right to invade them all the time. they deserve privacy too, you people are nothing but busybodies, that seem to think these stars owe you their life when in reality they owe you nothing”!!! and their personal lives are none of your Dang business!!!!! get a life of your own and these these people alone

  39. laura • June 27, 2012 @ 11:46 PM

this is soo dump, justin bieber does not have to deserve this , its their fault that they got in the way , and he got mad and i would to if i was him and he punched him thats not even a crime like really and he goes for questioning nothing a little think cause i guy got in his way and punched him get a grip, and i agree with debbie they do need priviacy

  40. laura • June 27, 2012 @ 11:47 PM

and im laura p not the other laura

  41. Annie • July 4, 2012 @ 10:04 PM
