Katy Perry struggles with the truth

By Tribute on June 23, 2012 | 9 Comments

With the costumes, the music and the over-the-top performances, Katy Perry shows fans her true self in her upcoming movie Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D. But was this tell-all documentary too much for the singer? Perry is currently promoting her newest project, which was produced from over 300 hours of film footage shot during her 2011 California Dreams world tour. The 27-year-old star admitted it wasn’t easy watching her film for the first time, especially because it was during her split from British comedian Russell Brand. “Sometimes my tummy turned when I saw different scenes – whether I was upset, whether I looked completely awful and exhausted, bloated with zits, [the] whole bit,” said Perry to ET Online.

“I left them in there ‘cause I thought it was important to show the truth because there’s a lot of fakeness out there these days.” Towards the end of her tour, Brand announced the couple’s divorce. “There were times on the road where I literally had to throw myself on that [stage] lift and kind of flip a switch and separate the personal from the professional because it’s… not the audience’s problems,” Perry said. “[The movie] is about overcoming obstacles no matter what shape they come in.” ~Graeme Mollison

Katy’s wide-eyed innocence is getting old real fast; she is not fooling anybody. Incorporating the marriage split is all about publicity and selling movie tickets regardless of who it hurts. She is making herself out to be a victim and then a hero for overcoming obstacles. If the movie was just about the career, it would be boring; people seek the drama and she knows this. It is still all about her isn’t it. Remember that the enemy of truth is distortion.

and if she didn’t make it personal you’d say she was typically hiding behind the spotlight, who knows what she’s like and what her motives are for the movie and it’s content…certainly not you or I……all I can say is it’s certainly not going to capture the male audience if she is shattering the sex appeal she has by looking bloated and zitty…..your philosophy seems a little sideways to me louise….work your entire career devolping a sex appeal and then the next step is to tear it all down for publicity??? whatever

My question is, aside from the two obvious reasons, why does it even need to be in 3D?

The only thing she’s struggling with is where to spend all that money. Aside from that, you can take your little worries about your zits and shove them up your ass.

easy film to make…just take all the video and string it into a film. will her fans be happy with this? Russel Brand is amazing in Rock of Ages…do you think she misses him now that he’s more successful?

OK so far there’s only one comment I agree with.. why 3d… the stage show perhaps? I’m just saying. The rest are obviously people who have no real interest in seeing an open viewed expose of a modern artist. Seems to me that she’s allowing people to see her personal world. Growing up, becoming a star, even when she’s had life’s setbacks. For somebody a setback in life is zits and divorce. In your 20s its pretty devastating. I can relate. When compared to being petty or jealous.. Katy doesn’t have to worry. She’s earned some money working for it. I’m a sound engineer and know first hand. Just singing a song doesn’t make a star. Lots of days and weeks of solid repetitive work and work ethic makes a star. Like any job or profession that requires a year or longer away from family, friends, and loved ones…Katy’s marriage suffered for it. People should be more empathetic for that. Instead of pathetic. Katy thanks for putting up with the “Me, me, me’s ” of the world!
