Kelly Preston and son Jett last OctoberKelly Preston has cancelled her appearance at the California Governor’s Conference for Women in October, hosted by Maria Shriver. She was scheduled to host a panel titled “Grief & Resilience,” and was to discuss how to cope with living after the death of a child. Preston and husband John Travolta lost their 16-year-old son, Jett, last January. Kelly released a statement that read: “It is with my sincere apologies that I must pull out from speaking at [the] conference. I am sorry, but I truly believed that I could do it. Otherwise I never would have said that I could. But I am still deeply in the process of healing, and it’s just too soon.”

Looking at the picture of her with Jett it is obvious she loved him. The smile is genuine and relaxed. This kid was no burden to her life; he was a blessing. Comfort and peace to her and the rest of the family.
