Leona Lewis , who won Simon Cowell’s British star search show The X Factor in 2006, says people who need to be drunk to have fun have a “stupid mindset.” The British pop star says she can have a good time without booze. She told Stylist magazine: “I find some people’s attitude to drinking ridiculous. I think it’s so funny that people think you have to drink in order to have fun. It’s such a stupid mindset! A lot of my friends are like, ‘I need a drink to get on the dance floor!’ I don’t need that ‘help me to relax’ thing. If I’m around my friends then I can really relax and have a good time, that’s all I need. I don’t need alcohol.”
ok, whatever.
Finally a pop-star with some common sense.
i agree with leona and im glad to see that she is smart on this subject.
“ok, whatever.” whats with that comment?
because every normal human being gets nervous dancing in front of people, talking or doing anything they are uncomfortable with. and a little shot or drink to loosen up never hurt anyone. that’s not being drunk, first of all.
second, any controversial thing will get you back in the spotlight.
hmm. the way i see it, being nervous is a part of life, people can overcome these things by subjecting themselves to them at least periodically. having a shot or a drink or two shouldnt be required to do things that make you feel nervous. its all part of growing up. i do agree that any controversial thing will get you back in the spotlight, but i dont remember leona really being in the spotlight, i didnt read much about her online, she was simply a good singer. im not sure if she has brought out any recent music, but if shes looking for spotlight perhaps she should give it a try.
What’s stupid is she thinks drinking is just about having fun.
demigod, what is drinking about to you?
