Eddie the Eagle (2015)

While most inspiring true-story sports films involve amazing feats, that isn't quite the case for Taron Egerton’s Eddie Edwards in Eddie the Eagle. Aiming to go to the Olympics ever since he was a child, Eddie’s journey doesn't end with a gold medal as you would expect from a sports film — he doesn't even medal at all. Instead, this is all about him getting to where he wanted to be, which was the Olympics (the 1988 Calgary Games to be exact). As disappointing as that would sound, his drive to even stand on that stage still makes for a compelling film.
