Pain & Gain (2013)

In between his last two Transformers movies, director Michael Bay returned to his R-rated roots with this 2013 crime comedy starring Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson, and Anthony Mackie. You might think a Michael Bay-directed film about a trio of muscle-headed criminals can't be true, right? Well, you'd be wrong. The story is based on the true story of Daniel Lugo (played by Mark Wahlberg) who wants to live the American Dream and wants to do it the easy way. To do so, he recruits a fellow body builder at this gym and an ex-convict for a failed extortion and kidnapping plot.
