Guillermo del Toro’s Hellboy 3

The beloved Mexican director appears yet again with a project fans of his have long desired, but sadly will never end up seeing realized. Guillermo del Toro's adaptations of the Mike Mignola comics may not have set the box office on fire, but were nonetheless stylish and beautifully crafted films that developed their own cult followings. With Hellboy II: The Golden Army (pictured) leaving a few plot threads unresolved, many were hoping del Toro and Ron Perlman would return for a third installment. Those hopes were dashed when it was announced that the franchise would be getting a reboot from director Neil Marshall with Stranger Things star David Harbour replacing Perlman as the titular demon spawn. Following the reboot's poor reception, the franchise seems to be all but dead, leaving del Toro’s Hellboy 3 being yet another "what if" for the Academy Award-winning director.
