Joseph Kosinki’s TRON 3

Given Disney's desire for new franchises, it was a surprise that the plug was pulled on the proposed third installment of the TRON franchise. Everything was almost ready to go in 2015 for the sequel that would see director Joseph Kosinki return to helm the project. Stars Garrett Hedlund and Olivia Wilde were also set to reprise their roles, especially with all the questions that arose from TRON: Legacy's (pictured) ending. Many believe it was due to the poor performance of Brad Bird's Tomorrowland around the time the film was set to hit production, but all that's certain is that the momentum the project had was all but spent and it's been years since anything new developed for the project.
