Alex Pettyfer – Beastly (2011)

This contemporary take on the classic Beauty and the Beast fairy tale took an interesting approach to depicting its titular Beast character. Alex Pettyfer's disfigurement is less about transforming him into an actual beast and instead scarring him up and adding mystical tattoos. While it does send a message that his character doesn't adhere to normal standards of beauty, it also falls pretty short on making him "Beastly." Instead, he just sticks out like a sore thumb rather than being a social outcast.
