Conan the Barbarian (2011)

With '80s nostalgia reaching its peak in the early 2010s it was no surprise that Conan the Barbarian was yet another property set to be given the reboot treatment. However, the role was made iconic by action star Arnold Schwarzenegger and few could envision someone taking on the character and making it their own. The 2011 reboot of the same name tried to do so with then little-known actor Jason Momoa, who was trying to break into Hollywood following a four-season run on Stargate: Atlantis. This is easily one of the rare cases where Hollywood put the cart before the horse, as Momoa was nowhere close to being the household name he is now. If Lionsgate were to have rebooted the Conan character now with Momoa in the lead, we would no doubt be talking about another franchise for the Hawaiian star.
