Blade Runner: 2049 (2017)

Though critically acclaimed at the time of its release, director Denis Villeneuve's Blade Runner: 2049 fell to the same fate as its predecessor, as an underappreciated sci-fi classic. It still boggles the mind that the film wasn't a bigger hit, but the same could be said of pretty much all of Villeneuve's works. That said, his 2017 sequel should still likely go down as another genre classic and a highlight in his growing prolific filmography.
