Goodfellas – Joe Pesci steals spotlight from Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta

Becoming infamous in the world of mobster movies, Joe Pesci set the standard in Martin Scorsese's Goodfellas (1990). Working alongside Robert De Niro, one of the most famous actors in Hollywood to play a mobster, Pesci managed to stand out and be acknowledged as one of the most notable characters of all time. "Some 3 decades on, and it's Joe Pesci who remains the film's particular highlight and the master of its superbly acted ensemble... the actor displays his full range and proves explosive in almost every scene," said The Film Magazine. Pesci went on to win Best Supporting Actor at the 1991 Academy Awards — the only one of the cast to be nominated.
