James Franco – Tommy Wiseau

In an interview with Howard Stern, James Franco revealed he insisted on staying in character as famously offbeat actor Tommy Wiseau on the set of the film The Disaster Artist. He walked around in full prosthetic makeup while speaking in Tommy’s signature thick, Eastern European accent. “I didn’t even really think about it,” Franco said. “People treated me different… it was just simpler to stay the dude.” Staying the dude certainly worked in Franco’s favor, though, because he would go on to win a Golden Globe Award for his performance.
