Impressively, Saoirse Ronan’s status as a four-time nominee at such a young age is likely what has kept her from winning an Oscar. At just 25 years of age, the Irish-American actress is already incredibly accomplished, having been recognized by the Academy for her work in films such as Atonement, Brooklyn, Ladybird, and most recently in Little Women. However, because she is so young it often feels like she’s been passed over for older actresses still looking to get their Oscar win. Ronan has lost out to the likes of Tilda Swinton in Michael Clayton, Brie Larson in Room, Frances McDormand in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, and most recently to Renée Zellweger in Judy.
