Cobra Kai (Netflix)

Cobra Kai brings back the stars of the 1984 hit movie Karate Kid, but with a twist. Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) is now seen in a sympathetic light. He believes he was bullied by Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), who in all honesty, ended up with Johnny's girlfriend in the film and played a cruel prank on him on Halloween. It makes us look at Johnny through different eyes. With the best of intentions, Johnny starts a dojo to help neighborhood kids defend themselves from bullies. But he makes the mistake of naming it after the brutal dojo he trained at when he was a teen, Cobra Kai, which raises Daniel's hackles and brings Johnny's old, abusive sensai to the door. The first two seasons of Cobra Kai arrived on Netflix in 2020, with the third season launching on January 1, 2021. It's been a massive hit for Netflix, immediately becoming one of the most popular series on the streaming service.
