Sound Mixing: Dunkirk (2018)

Though it would have been easy to pair the Sound Mixing winners from Mad Max: Fury Road with the Sound Editors, the trio of Gregg Landaker, Gary Rizzo, and Mark Weingarten did an outstanding job for Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk. While each winner has done exceptional work for their respective films, the audio impact of Dunkirk is best exemplified in the quality between standard screenings and IMAX, where the latter truly established the film as a cinematic experience.
