Harrison Ford – Indiana Jones, Raiders of the Lost Ark

It’s hard to imagine anyone but Harrison Ford in the role of Indiana Jones, but that wasn’t always the case. The original choice for the role was TV star Tom Selleck, and the actor was all set to go for Raiders of the Lost Ark, except that he wasn’t able to, due to his contractual obligations for the hit TV show Magnum P.I. That opened the door for Ford to take on the role, fresh off the set of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. The rest is history and Selleck’s original casting as Indie is just another footnote.
